Beautiful penthouse located in the epicenter of the old town of Cuenca, in the Plaza Mayor, where we have the most interesting and emblematic monuments of the city right at our feet. We are in the area with the most atmosphere in Cuenca. The apartment is very cozy, warm and bright, newly renovated and perfectly equipped. Nineteenth-century housing, three floors (no elevator, like all the old town), irregular plants, which is made up of a very quiet community of owners.
Our penthouse is not only an apartment in the Plaza Mayor, but an experience. Of recent remodeling, it has been endowed with all the elements necessary for modern life. Wooden ceilings, plaster walls and Castilian carpentry contribute to the house not only the character of a nineteenth century house in Cuenca, but the warmth and tranquility of a home.
No window has a blind, the light floods the house, and the views are beautiful. The community of neighbors is very small and very quiet, so that at home there is always a lot of peace. The beds are new, as well as the bedding and towels, and also all the water, heating, kitchen and bathroom facilities.
It has three facades. The first is the main one, which gives a very quiet period of time through which the dwelling is accessed. In this square is only the City of Cuenca and our building. The second façade overlooks the Huécar river sickle, so that from the living room and the hall we can see the mountain on which the well-known Cerro Socorro stands, with its viewpoint of the Sacred Heart that governs the landscape of said sickle. On the third facade we have the picturesque street Clavel, a narrow alley where there are several unique taverns. In Cuenca, this alley has a very marked character because through it comes the heifer that the boys from Cuenca run in the festivities of San Mateo the third week of September. No building intervenes in any of the views. Mount, sky, square and roofs is the "only" you will see from the windows of the house.
The house has almost 80 square meters. It is available in its entirety. As it conserves the original plants, the floor has several heights separated by small steps. There are almost no 90 degree angles. In the kitchen there is a table where five people can eat comfortably, and in the living room there is another extendable table where you can be calmly six people.
The whole house is for you. You will be very comfortable. There is wifi, television, hot water, refrigerator, microwave ... All the comforts so that you feel like in your own house. We will want to go to Cuenca.
We are, as I say, right in the hottest part of the old town of Cuenca. Just below the house is the Plaza Mayor, where our beautiful Cathedral is located. At the end of the street are the famous Hanging Houses (inside of them is the most beautiful museum I know, that of Spanish Abstract Art. Gratuitous). Less than a minute away is the peaceful Plaza de la Meced, with the Science Museum (ideal for children and young people), the Church of La Merced and the Major Seminary, and just after Plaza de Mangana, with its Mangana Tower that watches over Cuenca.
Cuenca is a gastronomic paradise, and in the old town and specifically the Plaza Mayor you can enjoy many restaurants and taverns where you can taste the best of our cuisine. Variety of styles and kitchens make our environment our best dining room. In addition, in the vicinity of the Plaza Mayor there is a small network of alleys where we will find peculiar pubs, caves and stables where we can have a drink. Pubs made of wood, stone, tiffany lamps, acclimated in the 80s, peculiar tavern ... Everything less than a minute from our house!
If you come from tourism you will not need to take any public transport, but through the Plaza Mayor pass the main bus lines of the city, through which you can reach the new city, shopping centers, bus stations or train or to the highest part of the old town. The stop is right in the Plaza Mayor, below our house.
