Negative: I love Penfeidr and have been going g there back and forth over thirty years have not been since 2011 and it was very disappointing to see old stoves let to rot and not removed in the road up to the house and it was very shabby that the outside of the house , the wood shed opposite the door looked like a hoarders pile of old plastics and woods rather unfortunate not a good first impression . Inside was as i remembered it I did give everything a detail clean though because it didn’t feel that clean with all the dust and cobwebs. It’s a shame that the tan soffa in the living room is so uncomfortable maybe a softer bigger soffa to accommodate a couple other than that I love the places and the fact that it is at the foot of Carn Ingli

Positive: Great location, as it is right on the side of the mountain but within easy walking distance of Newport town with its shops and pubs. It was cosy and warm with a wood burning stove and John kept us well supplied with wood. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed, and everything was very comfortable. I enjoyed the thoughtful reading lights everywhere and my daughters enjoyed the wi-fi and smart tv.

Summary: Cosy cottage with lots of character in a great location.
