Positive: Room decor, the food - especially breakfast, the view, the facilities and the standard of service.

Negative: The room had a connecting door to the next room so sound isolation was poor. This was an issue on the first night. Happily his was resolved by reception so that the room change we were also kindly offered wasn't necessary.

Positive: The property is old and therefore is difficult and expensive to maintain however the build has a modern airy feel with contemporary decor. The food was excellent and all the staff were friendly and professional. They are a credit you your business.

Positive: Room was large and clean. check in was great but I feel the hotel is a little tired overall The pool area was great and we enjoyed time there.

Negative: Our shower had very poor pressure and flow. the shower drain also blocked on the morning of our departure which meant we flooded the bathroom. Ordered a burger from the bar menu and fries were cold (replaced no issue) but the bun was very dry and pretty hard. The second night we choose the grill restaurant and I was disappointed with the Cullen Skink as it was mostly potato. other choices by family were fine. The steps down to the activity area in front of hotel are terrible. a handrail should be fitted

Positive: The staff were amazing, so helpful and pleasant The hotel is a beautiful old building with a lot of history. The grounds are lovely and we have a lovely walk round them. Pool facilities are good too.

Negative: Could have done with air conditioning in the room as it was hot. Not a lot of sound proofing in the rooms. Every morning early could hear children running and shouting in the corridors so if you are lol h for a quiet stay unfortunately this is no the place.

Summary: Lovely hotel and staff just a shame about the noise caused by other guests
