Summary: Check in fine went to room ac clean filter light on ac cover on floor but was fixed quickly . Next day took shower tub very slow drain tub filled with water told front desk said would have someone that day to fix did not. Was disappointed on Sunday dining room only had buffet no menu orders. Overall I enjoyed my stay quite and peaceful did wish they had more than one fire pit and was shut off to early for guests in my opinion.

Summary: We recently stayed at Peaks of Otter Lodge and had a very mixed experience. The setting is beautiful, and it’s a great place to disconnect and enjoy nature. The highlight of our stay was the Sharp Top shuttle ride—Dave made it such an enjoyable experience! Drinks at the bar were also wonderful, and the pricing on them was very reasonable. However, for $250/night, we expected more from the room. It was very outdated, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and hard, and the air conditioner barely worked. There was no phone in the room, and it lacked basic amenities like a mini fridge or microwave, which should be standard at this price point. To top it off, we found a spider in the bathtub upon arrival. The check-in process was slow with a long wait at the front desk just to get our room key. While we were at the lounge, there was a wedding party that made the space overwhelmingly loud, and it was hard to place a drink order with so many people crowding the bar. This lodge has potential and the location is stunning, but the rooms and guest experience need updates to match the price.

Summary: A beautiful mountain getaway! My room was basic but comfy and clean and the beautiful views and mountain setting is what makes this place so pretty. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Summary: The view was amazing, unfortunately that's the only good thing I can say about this place. It is old and dilapidated, it was maybe remodeled 40-50 years ago. The shower gel and shampoo containers in the bathroom were empty. We had a king room but they only gave us one washcloth. The furniture was ancient and should have been replaced years ago and the carpet was filthy. No microwave or refrigerator. When we walked in the room there was a strange, musty smell that we attributed to it probably being closed up for a while. But about 11pm we were laying in bed watching TV when i looked up and saw what appeared to be black mold on the wall near the ceiling. I took pictures of it. We complained to the front desk the next morning. The lady had my partner hold while she talked to the manager, who said we should have come to the desk when we saw the mold. Really?? At 11pm when we had our PJ's on? My partner asked to speak to the manager and was refused. I have stayed at the Pisgah Inn before which is similar to this lodge but much, much cleaner and updated. This was the worst room I have ever stayed in for almost $200.

Summary: Peaks of Otter Lodge really stood out for us on our roadtrip. The most notable feature is easily the scenery and seclusion of it. All rooms overlook the lake and the ability to walk out and immediately have views of the lake and peaks surrounding it is really special. The complex sits on its own surrounded by greenery without other buildings around. We were really charmed by it, felt instantly relaxed, and even thought it might make a good stop on a honeymoon! A leisurely walk around the lake takes no longer than 20 minutes. The setup is US 'motel' style: three units of two stories arranged alongside ample parking with communal ice machines. The bathrooms in particular were showing their age a bit. I found this to be characterful / charming more than off-putting but the shower head was a bit rusted and impossible to adjust and ventilation was just achieved through opening a window rather than an extractor fan. The main room was more recently decorated and spacious but the floor didn't seem to be completely clean so I deducted a star for that. These are relatively minor and we'd still absolutely stay again. We didn't dine in the restaurant so can't comment on that.

Summary: Wonderful location for great hiking and peaceful environment.

Summary: Beautiful scenery, food was pretty good, but it took a long time to get served due to understaffing. The room was clean, but pretty outdated and it only had a coffee maker. It would've been nice to have a mini refrigerator.

Summary: The stay at The Peaks of Otter this weekend was incredible! It was really refreshing to see the beauty of God's creation all around. So peaceful, tranquil, and beautiful everywhere I went. The service was spot on, the food was really good, and the people were really friendly. I would recommend The Peaks to anyone!
