Positive: Very nice and clean room with a balcony. At night we saw a lot of fireflies, which was amazing. Breakfast at another hotel was very good, a lot of food to choose from and we made use of the swimming pool above the river where they bring the elephants. Free tuktuk ride from and to Rambukkana railway station.

Positive: We stayed in a shipping container in an agricultural village. It was so peaceful, but with plenty of local wildlife. We had a tour of the gardens where they grow loads of different fruits and vegetables. We were told, they will be opening a restaurant in the middle of the gardens to cook local foods and to do cooking demos. Breakfast was at another location a 10 min walk away or a free Tuk Tuk ride. The breakfast was overlooking the river where the elephants come to bathe. You can also use all the facilities at the hotel, including the pool, even after you have checked out. The staff were really accommodating and friendly.

Negative: Restaurant in the hotel is a little pricey, but the food was good.

Summary: Fabulous overnight stay. Would highly recommend

Positive: Our stay at Peacock was amazing. The view from the restaurant was directly at the elephants, it was a very nice experience. The stuff is very friendly and helpful, they also helped us to arrange a taxi to our next destination and drove us free with their tuktuk.

Positive: It was amazing there and the owners are really kind and they care about everything's what you needs and really better than hotels next to the river , I recommend them because the place is no touristy and you can relax.

Negative: I like the tour what they have for elephants and temples and park but its really expensive and actually you don't need to

Positive: Pinnawala is a small place, the main attraction are the elephants. The accomodation is an revamped ship container which i always wanted to experience, it was rustic, with a nice double comfortable bed, toilet, aircon, enough room to store your bags etc, a balcony and our one you coukd go up onto the top. The views looking out to a garden and jungle affect. Viraj was so pleasant and nothing was too much, he drove us in the tuk tuk to the main hotel only a few mins away and you can walk too. You get a buffet breakfast at the hotel and use their swimming pool and can see the elephants at 10am and 2pm. Viraj gave us his mobile to text whenever we needed a drive some place ie to catch our bus on departure, this was included within your accomodation price. Overall a really nice stay.

Positive: Despite a bit small, the room is well equiped with air-con, TV, hot water shower. The hotel is affiliated with a bigger hotel therefore breakfast (which is the best buffet breakfast i had in sri lanka) was at the other hotel with a free tuk tuk or short walk via beautiful village. Elephant viewing even swimming pool is also available at the other hotel. The contact person Andrew is such a nice gentleman that he arranged everything perfectly. The host family is also very friendly that they tried their best to entertain my 3-year old son and he really likes them.

Negative: nothing, especially considering its price.
