Beautiful large and airy Tuscan house, with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and beautiful private pool. WIFI. Walking distance shop. Lovely choice!
Casa Colognola is peacefully situated in an edge of village location.
This beautiful house is light, airy and spacious, and provides good sized holiday accomodation, ideal for larger families, comprising of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a good sized kitchen/diner/living area and a further living room... So, there is plenty of space to be together, but also to find some privacy. For the romantics, there is a ground floor bedroom with en-suite, leading directly onto the garden.
Outside there are two dining options, both in the beautiful 'courtyard' and in the main garden. The garden boasts a brand new 9.5m x 4m swimming pool with roman stepped area.

A little about the area:
The villa is situated in village location, in the heart of the Garfagnana, 1 hour 15 minutes north of Lucca. This is real olde worlde Italy!
This charming little village has a basic shop, and a village bread van also comes 6 days a week. There is a bar/cafè and some other shops circa 1km away, and Piazza al Serchio, the closest larger village has many shops and amenities, and a few restaurants. Experience real Italian life...
This is a peaceful location, in the midst of the countryside, with many pretty hilltop villages to visit, as well as National Parks. There is the Santuario at Argegna, the lake of Gramalazzo, the fortress of Verrucole, and the property is also ideal for exploring Lunigiana.....
For non local days out, the coast (Lerici and the Cinque Terre) are just over an hour away by car, Lucca is a 90 minute drive, Pisa 1 hr 40 mins and Florence 2 hours or so... The market town of Castelnuovo is a 25 min drive and the beautiful mediaeval town of Barga 40 mins away... There is so much to see ...
Right at the end of the garden there is an area/barn with farm animals belonging to one of the villagers. The animals (rabbits, chickens and a goat) are often there and popular with children of guests. The local farmer goes to feed the animals once or twice per day but this is a separate building and he has his own entrance.
NB - final access is via a 20 M long narrow road way but one can enter driveway and turn around for coming back out! For those guests with large cars it may be preferable to park at the bottom of this access road.

Summary: Beautiful converted farmhouse. Access if you have a large vehicle is difficult as the driveway is very narrow. However any standard car would not have a problem. Situated in a quiet village with lovely views fantastic base for exploring the surrounding area. Also ideal for family days and nights. We cooked a lot in the propoerty tended to have a day out exploring followed by a day mucking about in the pool and gardens. The fire flies light up the garden at night and the bird song is fantastic. You are surrounded by nature. I would love to return and so would my sons and their girlfriends so appealing to 50+ ages and 18+. It was lovely to be in a non commercialised part of Italy very few fluent English speakers but lovely patient locals. We enjoyed communicating with our limited Italian and their limited English. Made the holiday experience all the better. Thank you for a lovely break.

Summary: The house locates in nice little village with good restaurats, but without a good foodshop. The house itself was very nice and clean, there was a very good infopaggage wating for us: where to go and what to see. All the rooms were clean and had all that you might need. Stairs to bacement are a littlebit dangerous for people with poor walking. Pool and garden was always in good shape. If we had any guestions, we got help very soon from manager. Only problem is the very minimun streetway to property: there is only a little room to get to the gate. The funniest thing was the rooster in neighbour: very teenage boys voice 😂😂😂 Really can recommend this house for your holiday.

Summary: We had a lovely family week in this big, clean and well supplied house. It's location is very peaceful, almost no tourists to be seen anywhere, and beautiful country all around. Three floors each with 'facilities' and big kitchen and dining room. We ate outside at lunch but it was a bit chilly in the evenings. Pool was clean and lots of loungers and chairs - not to mention apples and pears falling off the trees! Hens and a goat (next door) for company! Local supermarket (5 mins in car) was great and directions and local info provided was useful too. We visited a couple of the suggested places which we enjoyed but the best was the recommended wine tasting/buying which was brilliant! Everyone very friendly and wine at E3 a litre was more than fine! Cot and high chair provided were great too. Only slight snag is that you don't get the best of the weather bring up in the hills - we had a couple of lovely sunny days but also some rain. Lucca is a must and down in the valley it tends to be sunnier. If you want peaceful back of beyond, this is great, but not for those looking for smart restaurants or nightlife. Great holiday - thank you!

Summary: Das Ferienhaus war genauso schön wie wir es uns vorgestellt hatten. Die Ausstattung ist super, wir haben alles gefunden was wir brauchten u d noch viel mehr. Das Haus ist perfekt für zwei Familien. Die Zimmer sind groß und schön eingerichtet. Das Highlight ist natürlich der Garten mit dem Pool. Unsere Kinder (und auch wir 😊....) haben das sehr genossen. Der Urlaub war viel zu schnell vorbei, und wir haben uns alle fest vorgenommen wiederzukommen. Auch die komplette Abwicklung und Buchung mit Lorraine im Vorfeld war unkompliziert und sehr nett. Vielen Dank dafür!

Summary: Imagine the views of the Lake district, the weather of California, the food Venice at the prices of Mexico and you get the general idea. I could not have wanted anything better as a get away yet maintaining a little civilization close by. The property was comfortable and spacious and I would not hesitate to go back given the opportunity.

Summary: The villa was in a lovely position not over looked with the most amazing views of snow capped mountains. Everything has been thought out within the villa to make our stay there wonderful. Both the inside and the gardens are so lovely, I could have spent my whole holiday just relaxing by the lovely pool. Must book another holiday there

Summary: This property was just perfect ! We had two family's staying there and there was ample amounts of room. The house has everything you may need to sit back and enjoy your stay, the owners have really thought about the needs of their guests. One of our favourite points about staying here is that the location is out of this world ! So peaceful and so beautiful. We felt like we really fit into the Italian lifestyle and can not wait to return !

Summary: I think this is a beautiful house, with amazing views in a lovely , peaceful area. I wish it was mine! The house is well furnished, and there is plenty of room. The kitchen is well equipped and the house was very clean. My bed was extremely comfortable, and I slept like a log. The swimming pool was wonderful, and a good size, and the garden too. The place is very well appointed to visiting a number and variety of towns and villages. We had some lovely trips, with breathtaking scenery, seeing Camporgiano, Lucca as well as the beautiful Barga and many others : we visited somewhere different daily, all a short drive from our wonderful villa. Shopping was very good and there are some lovely food and clothing markets.

Summary: Beautiful house. It is everything that the description says and more. We had everything we could have wished for in the property. The pool and garden are amazing. We often stay in France or Spain but this part of the world is by far my favorite. Thank you so much for such a great stay
