We've lived here and this is what appeals to us:
Peaceful, quiet, birdlife, and only 2 km to town, which is easily walkable through the Matha Mine Pit Rim. There is an acre of land with a horse that lives in the paddock. He loves carrots and bread!
Waihi Beach 12 minutes away. 10km of white, sandy beach plus Anzac Bay, Whiritoa Beach, fishing, kayaking, walking, tennis.
Copious amounts of cycle trails and walking trails.
Plus restaurants galore, the Boating Club has a courtesy van as does the Beach RSA so transport solved for those who want a few drinks.

Summary: Spacious and comfortable two bedroom property. Good furniture and excellent kitchen. Quiet location with plenty of parking space. There are chickens around and a friendly horse. Our nine year old granddaughter had a great time. The people who look after the horse are friendly and engaging. I highly recommend this property.

Summary: Spent a week in this slice of paradise, had every thing we needed well equipped kitchen a nice, spacious batch. Enjoyed have a horse and chicken just outside. An easy walk to the main street for lunch and shopping.

Summary: Thanks to Karen! Checkin was easy and Karen popped around to orientate us first day. Fulfilled our request before we arrived and we used the BBQ to the fullest. Loved the home and location, quiet, beautiful yard with fruit trees. We enjoyed the rooster & chickens as entertainment. Only thing as we had extended stay & did fix a few meals found that the kitchen could have used a few more essential, like a measuring cup, few serving bowls. The natural light was wonderful! Bed was comfortable, shower was great!
