Summary: The 4-bedroom house is very spacious and decorated and furnished old French style. My parents loved it and I found it very original. The house is well equipped (the owner uses the property too, so not a "rent only" place which makes a ton of difference. The swimming pool is heated, which is amazing and the sound of the waterfall from the dam and being completely surrounded by a forest provides an intimate feeling. The only little quirks (none is a deal breaker, but owner seems new to renting through VRBO): - Never received instructions to check-in, had to call. Ppty manager seemed unaware we were arriving that day - Organic garbage was not taken out from the prior tenants (or owner), so full of flies and larvae (it was outside, but one has to take it to the entrance by car or take a long walk, so that was not fun) - Not enough drinking water jugs provided for the size of the house and length of the stay (maybe that's too high an expectation set by my prior rental in a different cottage a week before, in which we were provided more than enough drinking water). I would consider returning - very quiet and comfortable.

Summary: The description does not do justice to the beauty of this property. Complete seclusion in a forested valley with a stream running through it. A great outing was to circle the pond through the forest along a marked path and we found a pioneer cedar fence overgrown by the woods as well as numerous springs on the east side. The sound of the waterfall in the background lulls you to sleep. The house is an antique-filled masterpiece and very comfortable. The tennis court and pool are in top condition. For longer distance swimming the pond is deep and refreshing. And across the road you can enter the back end of Boyne Valley provincial park with even more exploring opportunities. We were awed by the overall beauty of this property which is probably unique in all of southern Ontario.
