Negative: Woke up at 2am even though I was on the 4th floor with a group of people drinking & talking loudly on the across the street. Turned on the tv and there was no cable service?

Positive: Convenient location. Clean rooms. Friendly reception staff. Free coffee and bottled water. Good air conditioning. Breakfast not provided but there is a great bagel place two doors along the street.

Negative: Difficult to contact the hotel by phone in advance (to ask for our 2 rooms to be close together). I was told to call different departments, and no one seemed able to help so I gave up. But shortly before our arrival I got an automatic email asking for special requests, and it was all fine in the end.

Summary: Clean, comfortable stay, really close to subway station.

Positive: The staff were nice. The lobby, elevators, and hallways were clean. The room was cleaner than others I've experienced in New York. Very little lint in the bathroom exhaust vent. The location was OK, 28th and Lexington has less smell of urine and marijuana than other places in the city.

Negative: The AC unit did not remove humidity. The room was either humid and too cold or humid and too warm depending on whether the thermostat was set to 71F or 72F degrees. The AC was also extremely loud. I fully expected that a different room would be essentially the same, so did not bother asking to change rooms. Shoebox rooms can't be given adequate airflow with old wall mounted AC units.
