Positive: Very friendly staff, and helpful. Very clean place. Good food and drink, both in quality and choice. Comfy rooms. Good gym and pool..

Negative: There was a few things which are not major problems, but slightly annoying! The lift was broken down for all of the 4 days i was there, and i didn't see anyone trying to repair it.. Kinda tricky for less mobile people. (There may of been access in other parts of the hotel that i didn't see) The electronic lock on my room door kept locking me out, meaning a wee trip back to reception to get it reset. This happened 3 times in my 4 night stay. Again, not a major issue, just annoying. Please be aware that the hotel is across the road from a old theme park site, which used to be Camelot. It is now used by some 'Scare' experience and they hold wee parties there at weekends which go on until about 11pm. I could hear the music even with the window shut, and had to wait until they finished until i could get to sleep. This is outwith the control of the staff, but slightly annoying after a 4 hour drive to get there..

Positive: Breakfast was good and plenty of choice and as we were there for my grandson's wedding we could not fault the service we had during the whole day

Negative: The room we had was large and was good for all four of us ladies to have our make-up done however the bed was uncomfortable and the duvet did not fit the bed

Summary: All in all our stay was a happy one

Negative: Hall way to room smelt of damp, Lift was very noisy and felt unsafe, Having to share the communal area with the guests of a wedding, Tv not working in room. Ladies toilets out of order in changing room, and having to walk through corridors in wet swim wear from swimming pool to sauna.

Positive: We arrived at 3pm and check-in was smooth. The room was spot on – very clean, warm, quiet, and comfortable, with a bathroom that felt brand new. We then visited the bar and enjoyed a beer in the lovely outdoor area, before taking a walk by the lake, which was so peaceful and relaxing. Later, we spent time in the spa facilities – steam room, sauna, and swimming pool – all of which were excellent. The sauna in particular was perfect; as someone who has been using saunas since childhood, I can say the temperature and setup were just right. In the evening, we had dinner in the restaurant, which rounded off a perfect stay. Everything from start to finish was top class, and we absolutely loved it.

Positive: Location was good for what we wanted however you definitely need a car for this location. The gym and pool are wonderful and the restaurant and staff in the restaurant were excellent.

Negative: Accepting that there is a booking in guideline be prepared that there is no movement on this without a ln additional charge. Additional charges are all over towels for the gym, use of facilities outside of your time, checking in early even when rooms are available! Check in staff average at best and not helpful/understanding. Having travelled from Australia and knowing the room was ready we had to wait until the exact 3pm to check in even though arrived early morning due to the additional charges. Very poor and it’s the little things that matter on customer service. Lots of building and upgrade works happening around the place not made known on booking which should have offset the check in charges. Wayfinding around the complex especially with the work going on was shocking. Often finding ourselves in work areas where there was equipment or no lights or construction sites in the first day especially.
