Positive: We were travelling back to Tyneside after a visit to the Edinburgh Fringe and decided to break up our journey by stopping halfway. Pantile Lodge was conveniently located at the halfway point for us and gave us a very friendly welcome. Comfortable and spacious well-equipped room that includes a fridge that came in handy. Good sized shower. Breakfast served in attached cafe was great and better than many higher end hotels that we have stayed at in the past. Very friendly staff in the cafe that is also well stocked with local produce and arts and crafts. Good pub over the road serving meals and offering takeaway.

Negative: There was a little noise from the main road but was certainly not excessive and did not really impact on our very comfortable stay.

Positive: Lovely, warm welcome with a few extras to settle us in. Fantastic breakfast with lots of choice. Absolutely delicious porridge. The cafe was buzzing and the staff there were friendly and really helpful.

Negative: We had problems with the shower - found a solution but did not fully function during our stay.

Summary: Wonderful welcome to the region - excellent base for exploring Northumbria. I'm sure we'll be back!

Positive: Cosy, excellent breakfast, service was very friendly . My partner had the full English breakfast, and I had the equivalent vegetarian breakfast, and both were really delicious. Totally recommend this for a quiet weekend away. Thank you !
