Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The host was exceptional: welciming, kind, thoughtful and generous. We were asked what we would like for meals - all freshly prepared and generous especially the Maldivian food. Everything provided; our linen all new and room spotless. A fridge full of cold water in reception and a sand courtyard to dry off wet beach items. Two robust sunbeds were provided on bikini beach withj a shade and we were shown around the island. When asked two iced coffees were delivered to us at the beach - nothing was too much trouble. The location is fabulous right near a beach to sit in the evenings and a shorr walk through the trees and plantations to bikini beach. Mandhoo is a very quiet island with just one small shop and no nightlife - here there is peace and quiet, no noise and a wonderful forest. A place to unwind and chill. We took a boat trip with Amir and had an incredible experience just offshore with shoals and shoals of different fish and I stopped counting at twenty nurse shark in sight !! Highly recommended.

Negative: Unfortunately the bikini beach is only swimmable for a short period at high tide am and hardly that. Most coral is dead and you need shoes to get in - the shoreline is full of it. A better swim (clothed) is by the old pier or at the end of the island. Ideally take a boat trip with Amir and you will have some of the best snorkelling ever !!
