Positive: The room was spacious enough for a family of four, and everything we needed—linens, towels, and kitchen equipment—was provided in spotless condition. The interior was beautifully styled, and the bed covers—possibly handmade quilts—were absolutely lovely and made the room feel extra special. The kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped and stylish. They even provided a large amount of fresh milk, as well as some thoughtful snacks. There was even a fryer, and a hand-drawn neighborhood map that was incredibly helpful. We were also delighted to have a private jacuzzi prepared for us. Relaxing in the large garden while enjoying the ocean view was truly wonderful, and at night the garden lighting created a magical and enchanting atmosphere. Our children absolutely loved playing with the owner’s incredibly friendly and affectionate cat on the second floor, while the adults were able to relax just as comfortably as if we were in our own home. It was an exceptionally pleasant and comfortable three-day stay, and we sincerely appreciate your warm hospitality. When we revisit Tiritiri Matangi Island, we will most certainly choose to stay here again.

Positive: Myself and 2 friends stayed here for a girl’s weekend and were so impressed. Sue and Peter have clearly put a lot of thought into this property, and it’s evident through the little things like bathroom amenities, a hand drawn map of things to do in the area, and the snacks left out for our arrival. Although Sue and Peter live upstairs, they were very respectful of our privacy. The made it known that they were there should we need anything, but also gave us our space. For the price to quality ratio, this place is a real winner!

Negative: Occasionally the wifi would cut out while we were streaming a movie on the TV, but other than that everything was perfect.

Positive: Sue and Peter were extremely friendly and welcoming. They were very accomodating in meeting our requests. They gave us our privacy all the time.

Negative: Everything was good baring in mind that the garden is still under construction.

Positive: Sue was an excellent host. There was excellent communication prior to our stay and all details for arrival were very clear. The place was easy to find in a nice peaceful location, with parking available right outside the entrance. It is a great location close to Shakespear Regional Park and a short drive to some lovely restaurants and cafes. The place had everything that we needed for our stay and loved the snacks!

Positive: I had the absolute pleasure of staying at this property during a recent trip, and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment I booked- very last minute. I might add...Sue went above and beyond. I was arriving on short notice due to a previous booking cancelling- I was blown away by her hospitality and how she had the place spotless and fully ready for me within the hour. The property itself was immaculately clean and cozy with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Sue’s warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care truly made it feel like a home away from home. The location was just as impressive: picturesque and peaceful, yet close to everything. Beautiful beaches, scenic coastal walks, parks, local cafés, fantastic restaurants, farms, and even petrol stations were all within easy reach. What really made the experience special was the personal touch- when it was time to leave, Sue and her grandson stood at the gate and waved me off. It was such a heartfelt goodbye and the perfect end to a truly memorable stay. Thank you, Sue, for everything- I’ll absolutely be back!
