Summary: This is my favourite hotel in the entire country. I stay at Ovolo if I can in every city. Even my own! and also including overseas (Hong Kong). The stand out for me at Nishi is the design, the bed linen that is superb and the location. I came for a national photographic portrait prize and you can always pop by what is on. Floriade, another visit to the National Gallery, etc. One thing I noticed, mini bar used to be free. Its gone from great to reduced to a few things to pay for mini bar. It is the thing that set you apart except for the above, for me.

Summary: The hotel is about 15-20 mins walk from city centre. There are cafes and restaurants near the hotel for a quick bite. We stayed at the original sun room which is spacious and overlooks the lake. Lighting is not bright enough though there are many light settings in the room.

Summary: This stunning property is all about 'COOL' from the moment you arrive in the eclectic space (an architectural gem) to the rooms themselves. An open area for the bar and casual dining, with fireplace and funky objects on display as well as a massive descending staircase that takes you to a first-class cinema (no need to leave the hotel) and at the time of my stay the Scandinavian Film Festival was on show! If only they had not closed their dining room, an inviting space with an excellent menu for the omnivorous plant-loving dinners: now just a simple spot in the bar with a limited choice :(

Summary: Stay was ok staff were lovely at check in but didn’t think this was a 5 star that people raved over. We stayed in the meandering room. No sports stations on the tv, facilities were low and wasn’t what we felt people raved about.
