Positive: Beautiful property in wonderful grounds and a perfect location to walk and explore both Leeds and the Yorkshire moors. Wonderful care and attention to detail from Richard and Elspeth we had the BEST and most special stay here and felt like we were in a 5* hotel and family home combined. Gorgeous breakfasts, super room, local knowledge and an oasis on the outskirts of Leeds.

Positive: The friendliness of the hosts. We were made very welcome, only stayed 1 night as we were on our way to Harewood House, but we should have stayed another night as it was such a fabulous house. We didn't want to leave! We were made to feel very special from the moment we stepped in (and chilled with welcome drinks in the garden) to our departure after enjoying a very tasty breakfast. The hosts are genuinely the nicest couple we've met when staying in B&Bs. Nothing was too much trouble. We had an absolutely wonderful time in the company of Elspeth and Richard at their beautiful home which has several nice restaurants nearby and the scenery driving in the area is beautiful and it's ideally situated for visiting Harewood House.

Positive: Everything. Elspeth and Richard were the perfect hosts, they couldn’t do enough for us. Beautiful clean bedroom, delicious breakfast and the added bonus of the wonderful garden, billiards room and snug. Plus so many other lovely touches. Highly recommend a stay here.

Positive: The house and setting were gorgeous — a real oasis in the city. Elspeth and Richard are wonderful hosts and happily attended to our requests - the recommendation for our evening meal was spot on. We were sad only to have one night here, but we had driven up to watch the cricket at Headingly, which was only a 10-minute cab ride away. Our breakfast was superb!

Negative: Absolutely nothing. Everything was fabulous.

Positive: Attention to detail and I mean in everything! This couple go above and beyond to make your stay pleasurable. They are attentive and caring, the food for breakfast is locally sourced produced, cooked to a high standard. The garden and home are immaculate with the softest towels and even toilet roll. There is not one thing I would change about this place and would recommend to everyone. The place itself of high class but with a homely vibe, I loved our stay.

Positive: Richard and Elspeth were extremely welcoming and friendly, they made us feel at home straight away. The location was excellent – just 10 minutes from the airport, close to Miller & Carter, and with a pub right around the corner. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated and had the biggest, comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in – absolute heaven! Breakfast was plentiful with an excellent selection, and we certainly didn’t leave hungry. The only slight downside was that the fried and poached eggs were slightly undercooked for our liking, so it’s worth mentioning how you prefer them when ordering. Overall, this was one of the best guest houses I’ve stayed at, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.
