Positive: The location is beautiful and quiet, the retreat is so well thought through. Everything I could want was included, the bed was large and comfortable and the host friendly and accommodating. Ideal location for local sites and especially for the wedding I attended on a local farm.

Negative: Everything was perfect.

Positive: It's a lovely little wooden Shepherd's Hut. It feels rustic, but also modern at the same time. It's very well equipped. There were towels/shampoo/conditioner. Salt, pepper, oil, coffee pods, tea, and even milk were provided for us. The setting is very peaceful. It's close to the owner's house, but when you're in the hut it feels very private and you are surrounded by nature. The bed is comfortable, with good quality sheets. Check in was very easy. It's well located for exploring West Cork - it's a short drive from Lough Hyne where you can swim, kayak and see bioluminescent plankton. It's also a short drive from Baltimore, where you can get the ferry to islands like Cape Clear, or do whale watching tours.

Negative: We got woken up with the sunrise, but we didn't mind that too much and the owner had provided eye masks which was very thoughtful. The only negative for us was that checkout was very early - 8am. That meant our last morning was a bit rushed. 9am would be better.

Positive: We were so lucky to stay in this little gem in West Cork. It's small but perfectly formed, and it's obvious that a lot of care has been given to ensure a cosy and functional interior. I loved waking up to a view of the lush ferns, and it's a great location from which to explore West Cork. Hopefully, we'll return some day. Huge thanks to our kind hosts!
