Positive: Had everything needed for the kitchen, was a comfortable place to stay. Everything was clean.

Negative: In the flight path so you hear planes flying overhead. The street to drive in on was a bit sketchy but had no problems. The road in was a bit rough.

Positive: Lots of privacy. The perfect amount of space. Beautiful environment. Excellent temperature control. A very personal touch. We were given delicious treats and baked goods! It was very easy to context the owners if we needed anything. We were close to lots of trails and able to have many adventures. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Negative: Road was a little rocky coming in but with the right tires and speed you’ll be fine.

Positive: The cottage was cute and quaint, a perfect mountain getaway. We had deer visit us in the morning. When an arrived, we were surprised to have fresh strawberry bread and bananas on the table for us. They also provided eggs and coffee creamer in the fridge. So thoughtful!

Positive: We were so pleased with our stay at this cozy,clean and comfortable cottage. I was in town to assist my mother with some medical appointments and this accommodation exceeded our expectations. We were able to sit outside on the front porch and enjoy our morning coffee while birdwatching. The little house is well laid out with living area and bedrooms well defined. Our hosts were great with communication and ensuring that we understood arrival and departure instructions. They were so gracious to provide a few treats prior to our arrival and this was very helpful/thoughtful.

Negative: The road leading to the property is gravel which could be impacted by weather conditions. Throughout our stay we went slowly and were able to come and go without too much difficulty.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at Oscar’s Hendo Retreat and would happily recommend this place to friends and family.

Positive: The hosts have worked hard to create a welcoming, cute and comfortable little house with everything guests need for a very comfortable stay. The hosts left us a generous and delicious collection of breakfast goodies, so we didn't have to go shopping right away. Thank you! The location was a little tricky, because the rental is on a dirt and gravel road. The road had been horribly damaged during Hurricane Helene and had been repaired since then, plus we were in a truck, but we arrived after dark and were surprised by the circumstances. It would have been nice to know what to expect. We came to the area to volunteer in clean up efforts after the hurricane, so we were definitely ok with coping with the road.

Negative: We would have liked information about the rough road before arriving in the dark.

Summary: We were very comfy at Oscar's Hendo Retreat and we thank our hosts!

Positive: Everything was super clean, they had all of the essentials covered, and we felt very comfortable in the place. Such a cute little property! The road up to the place is a little rocky, but it wasn’t a problem.
