Nafpaktos. Situated on the north shore of the Corinthian gulf, it is one of Greece's most naturally beautiful locations. The landscape combines both mountainous terrain covered in rich vegetation on the north side, and to the south, a long coastal shore boasting numerous amazing shallow-water beaches with turquoise-blue waters. As if this was not enough, the area is surrounded and bound by ancient history. The city of Nafpaktos itself has a long history leading back to before the ancient Peloponnesian wars, and its castle-fortress is one of the best preserved in Greece. A plethora of historical sites surround this area at every step, almost towards any direction. Only a few kilometers to the east, up in the mountains lie the ruins of the ancient temple of Delphi. The oracle that presided there in ancient times was considered the most important in all of classical Greek history, and visiting is a ''must'' even in modern times...
The home itself is located 10 minutes outside the city of Nafpaktos, right on the beach. It is one of a few rare homes in the area out of which you can literally step onto the beach from your front door.
The home is a restored classical 50's Greek fisherman's home. The owner, who is an amateur carpenter and an artist, has given the home a unique feel which combines the classic and the modern in the most elegant and colorful way.
This two-story holiday home has a wonderfully lit and spacious living and dining room on the ground floor, leading to the fully equipped kitchen which beckons you to use it for the preparation of meals made with ample traditional Greek ingredients found locally. The top floor has three bedrooms, all of which sport original artwork, as well as several hand-crafted furniture pieces by the owner himself. The two beautiful master bedrooms with queen-sized double beds share a balcony which overlooks the beach and the crystal clear waters along with its fishing boats. The third bedroom has a double bunk-bed (double beds above & below) and a single bed, along with an original 50's fireplace should you visit in the winter.
Stepping outside you will find that the seaside fenced patio is perfect for dinning, sunbathing, or just lounging while listening to the sound of the sea. Nine more steps, and the tenth will be on the beach with its serene, clear waters tempting you to extinguish the bright Greek sun in an instant.

Summary: The house is simple and basic, some will feel it's too rustic so don't expect luxury accommodation... it is an old fisherman's house after all and for me that was a plus... It sits at the end of an amazing bay with crystal clear water and on that department I would give 10 stars if I could...

Summary: A very lovely holiday destination. The owner was very nice and helpful, Skaloma is a very small, friendly, beautiful location. Just enough bars, restaurants etc. There is a small supermarket and other good restaurants just a 30min walk away. My only problem is check it's location on other websites.

Summary: Certainly one of our best vacations ever - due to the hospitality, kindness, serenity and support of owner Christos who lives next door - due to the spacious, well maintained property in a premium location right on the beach in a small bay - due to cristall clear waters and great restaurants just a short drive away all far from mass tourism and close to the locals. Summary: I can only confirm all the previous reviews. The house is clean and perfectly equipped... and the location is exceptionnal! Of course, Skaloma can get a bit busy in August, because this beach is quite popular among locals; but it is usually very calm, and its family atmosphere is very far from the hot spots of mass tourism. Christos is a wondeful host, and it was a genuine pleasure to meet his neighours & familly!

Summary: This house is very special and Christo is a kind and thoughtful host. There is everything you need for a true lot comfortable stay. Well equipped and beautifully positioned a few steps from the sea. We cooked and ate on the terrace and swam from the small beach next to the house. It’s calm and quiet and friendly. A perfect spot for those who want to be a stones throw from the sea in a comfortable house that is cool in the heat and tastefully renovated. We had a great time.

Summary: From the beginning to the end it was a joy to be in Skaloma. Christos, our host, who bought and made a barbecued octopus lunch for us one day is so attentive and such fun. The sea is literally on the doorstep with great swimming and diving off the jetty. The restaurant owners nearby are all so friendly and willing to accommodate ones every need. A great find for a family holiday destination and close enough to Delphi for some culture!
