Casa Musica is a detached cottage with full self catering facilities and outside there are covered and open terraces with fabulous mountain views providing the perfect backdrop to alfresco dining or just supping a glass of the local tinto.
There is an open plan living room with wood burning stove. A double bedroom with vanity basin, ceiling fan, wooden shutters, chest of drawers and wardrobe. There is a shower over along with a separate WC. The kitchen includes a gas oven and 3 ring hob, a fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster along with crockery, cutlery and glassware.
There is a dedicated Internet connection by ethernet or Wi-Fi. Entertainment includes Amazon Firestick and Netflix subscription. There is also a DVD player with large DVD library, book library and board games.
Outside there is private garden and also private open and covered terrace with BBQ, dining and lounging furniture.
The communal pool is shared with a maximum of 4 other persons, and was converted from the farm’s water storage. It is not a lounging pool. When guests are not in the village or exploring nearby, they spend most of their time in their own private garden and open and closed terraces with loungers and umbrellas and pop up to the pool to cool off before returning to their loungers to pick up their book or glass of wine or both!
Everything else you need can be found in the whitewashed village of Lubrin, adorned with bright geraniums and bougainvillea, endless sunshine and narrow cobbled streets leading to uncomplicated squares where butchers, bakers, tapas bars, supermarkets, ATM and just five minutes from your door.
Where to go and what to do!
The Cabo de Gata National Park is one of the most beautiful and ecologically rich coastal strips in the western Mediterranean and is the first Natural land and sea park in Andalucia. The drive takes just over an hour and the route down the mountain, via Nijar, is very dramatic. The park offers walks on marked trails and tracks amongst native scrub and grasses, amidst the scent of wild lemon balm and the distinctive aromas of curry plant and herbs. You are able to follow inland trails and coastline.
The ancient Andalusian city of Almeria(1 hour away) lies sheltered at the base of a bay, proudly dominated by the amazing Alcazaba, a huge Moorish citadel with three walled enclosures dating from 995.
The Alhambra in Granada is a very popular place to visit by our guests. It takes just 2 hours to drive to Granada along the Almeria to Sevilla motorway with stunning view. There is a shuttle bus that takes you from the Alhambra direct to the Plaza de Nueva where it’s a short walk to the Cathedral and Royal Chapel.

Summary: Excellent location, lovely accommodation. Fantastic warm welcome from John and Moira. I instantly felt welcome and relaxed. The walks are very clear described with a photo of each turning point in a convenient small pocket sized "photo album." Great views. I felt confident doing these walks on my own, it was the first time I had been on holiday abroad on my own. The village has several lively bars and an excellent fruit and veg market on a Wednesday morning. The national park on the coast is well whether a visit. Stunning coastal walks and numerous wonderful beached/coves. Quite often I was the only person on the beach! The coast is about an hours scenic drive away over 2 small mountain ranges. A lovely restful peaceful place to stay, in a typical Spanish village.

Summary: Cycling in the area is a joy with so few cars on the road and hardly a pothole in sight!. The off road routes are a good mix of terrain and good fun with some wonderful views. Definitely worth getting to the top of the hill for. Lubrin itself is a very picturesque village nestling in the hills, with quaint whitewashed houses and narrow streets. The local tapas bars are great with wine 1 euro a glass and Tapas 1 euro each, means you can try the lot. If you want to go car free try and tie your flights in with the local bus which runs twice a day to Lubrin. However having a car does give you the advantage of being able to visit the Alhambra in Granada -need to book this in advance. We used one of the local bikes and hired another from a bike shop in Garrucha on the coast as the other bike was too large. Holiday was great, we loved the cottage and its decor. The cycling was great, you need to be prepared for cold in the morning and hot by lunchtime when cycling. Walking in to Lubrin in the evening was fun with the amazingly starry night sky and as it was only a 5 minute walk very easy to pick up supplies when needed. In the warmer months the cottage would be lovely for Barbeques in the evening as it has terrific views.

Summary: Lovely self-catering bungalow just outside of Lubrin village. Very rural location with pretty landscaping on the property with a swimming pool for residents. Wonderful reception from Mary and John who made us very comfortable and provided with information on walks, visiting nearby villages and where to eat in Lubrin village. We had a very pleasant week enjoying the local eateries which offer good food and are remarkably inexpensive. Thoroughly recommended for a relaxing break, or if walking is your thing then there is plenty to explore. One word of caution though, if you have any mobility problems, then Lubrin is not for you, very hilly terrain!

Summary: If you enjoy walking and want a real Spanish experience then this holiday is for you. John and Mair made us very welcome and couldnt have been more helpful without being intrusive. The property was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing base for our holiday. As we planned to be walking we didnt want to hire a car so John arranged for the local taxi to collect and return us to the airport. We enjoyed our breakfast outside taking in the view and relaxing in the garden after a days walking. John supplied us with five excellent walks covering the surrounding area, all different and very peaceful and finishing at one of the tapas bars each day in the village. The village of Lubrin, a short walk from the property, is a maze of narrow streets and whitewashed buildings with some stunning views. There are a couple of supermarkets, two bakers, butchers and pharmacy, banks and a surprising amount of tapas bars for a small village, all offering very good food at very good prices. The market is well worth a visit on Wednesday morning which is the only day to get your fresh fruit and veg. The thing that struck us the most about this holiday was how peaceful is was everywhere which made for a very relaxing holiday.
