Summary: The place is a lovely historic hotel. The rooms were nice, spa was good, the grounds very pretty. But — everything was ridiculously expensive, not worth it, especially when we are in a rural area.

Summary: It is an amazing hotel, beautiful and elegant, very clean and comfortable. Very well preserved and with a lot of history. It is common in the historical hotels keep the common areas amazing, but rooms are not updated. This hotel is clean and updated everywhere. People are very friendly, and service is great. I would say that food was overpriced, and quality was ok but not for this price range. The best food we had was in 1796 restaurant-steak was very good, however, breakfast buffet and tea ceremony did not impress... Food was on the heavy side and just not impressive. Otherwise, the hotel is amazing.

Summary: Three days. Loved the upscale environment steeped in history. It was a great stop on a month-long journey. Only (minor) disappointments were the lack of robes in the room and lack of convenient plug by the right side of the bed to recharge phone and watch. Otherwise the stay was well worth the price.
