Positive: The place is cozy and well situated in Mandraki. The equipments are there and available.

Negative: It said Traditional House, not traditional basement. This wouldnt be so much of an issue if there was a real separation between their house and their basement, but they can hear everything you do down there - and you can hear everything they do. It's also super humid and hard to ventilate once you showered. If you're a political person you might not vibe with some of the pictures on the wall.

Positive: Very nice place for people who want to enjoy traditional enviroment. It is situated very close to the bars and restaurants, supermarket is almost just across the road. Although it is not very close to the beach, it is perfect for enjoying the nice paths in Mandraki. The owner was very friendly and very helpful, definitely amazing service. A perfect place for people who love cats :)

Negative: It is basement apartment, so there are unfortunately no windows

Positive: The location is bang on in the middle of Mandraki. From here, you're just a few steps away from the monastery, the seaside, shops, restaurants bars, etc. If you're renting a car, the narrow streets won't allow you to get very close to the property, but there's free public parking relatively close. Due to the layout of the narrow streets, it is not the easiest place to find, but walking through the island capital is a pleasure and a constant discovery, so that's not a problem at all. As previously agreed with the owners, we arrived around the expected time and they were waiting in their apartment with the keys. Betty gave us a lovely tour of the property (located in the basement and accessible by stairs both in the exterior, but also in the interior).

Negative: Personally, since we didn't spend a lot of time there, having the internal connecting staircase, all the memorabilia and consequently some lack of space, not a lot of natural light or the lack of natural ventilation were not problems. These ended up making the space feel more special end enjoyable, like a little secret waiting for us in the fabulous island of Nysiros. Overall, we really enjoyed staying in the Old Traditional House, with all its quirks interesting details. We stayed for only a night so, between visiting the island and taking a ferry back early in the next morning, we didn't actually spent a lot of time in the property. Most of the negative points that other reviewers mention are true. If you believe these could negatively impact your stay, you might be better off skipping this place. Personally, as explained above, these things were more of a nice touch (memorabilia and layout) or not really relevant (lack of natural light or proper natural ventilation). Nevertheless, there were a couple of things that I would like to point out: The bathroom is very small, which was not a problem, but, maybe for that reason, the walk in shower had a protection to cover the drain. As it was not open to the air, the drain was not properly clean and it had a certain smell coming out of it. To finalize, and I would like to be very clear that I cannot be 100% sure about this, the next morning, both me and my wife woke up with several bug bites in bodies. This could be because we walked outside at night and there were some bugs around, but it left us wondering if it it could have been bed bugs.

Positive: Excellent curated with care and attention to all the ornaments. A lovely piece of history. The owner Betty was incredibly kind, showing us around and making sure we had everything we needed, and located perfectly in the town with a few excellent restaurants and bars. Thankyou
