You spend the night in the heart of the old town of Heidelberg in a historic house on Oberbadgasse, which is located just opposite the former city wall. In medieval times the house was one of the city's public bath houses. In the 18th century the rooms on the ground floor were used by craft businesses. Later it was the home of a student club that became in the late 60s one of the first "gay clubs" in Germany, the popular “Whisky a GoGo”. Today you sleep on the former dance floor.
The valley station of the funicular to the castle is on the doorstep. You can also reach the castle on foot via 315 steps. A public parking garage (19.50 € per day) and a bus connection to the main train station are in the immediate vicinity. The central market square and the numerous restaurants with their outdoor catering are only a few steps away. The striking Church of the Holy Spirit, the baroque town hall, and the renaissance building "Zum Ritter" are located here. The market square leads to the miles long pedestrian zone, to the “Untere Straße” with its small trendy bars and to the “Steingasse”, which leads to the Old Bridge at the river Neckar, another landmark of Heidelberg.

Summary: This was the perfect place to stay to explore old town Heidelberg and its Christmas Markets. The home was clean and had everything we needed, and is conveniently located. I would definitely recommend!

Summary: If you want a location in the old town, close to everything, this is the place! We were very close to all the Christmas Markets and the Castle. Even though it was located on a busy corner, by nightfall we slept very well with very little outside noise disturbing us. The owner is very responsive and is very pleasant. We had difficulty with the wall heaters, something we aren’t used to and she came immediately to help us. I highly recommend thid place.. it accommodated three people very well.

Summary: A cozy place in the historic district to take in the sights. The apartment had all the basic amenities. We didn’t cook but I wasn’t sure how you would do dishes as I didn’t see any dish soap and scrubs. The only issue we had was the that the futon was unlevel with one side tilting down so it wasn’t a comfortable bed. We had a great stay otherwise!

Summary: Only steps away from the bus stop and the entrance for the castle train up the hill. Can be a little noisy up until 11 pm due to the bus stop. Nothing ear plugs didn’t take care of. 2 minute walk to the old square. 11 minute ride on the #20 bus to the main train station. Apartment had all necessary amenities for a short stay. Very happy with the choice

Summary: Great location. Funicular to castle is just steps away. The Cathedral, restaurants, bakeries all within a minute walk. Apartment was very clean and well equipped. The water pressure in the shower was great. We had a great stay!

Summary: Convenience is great; people talking and yelling outside your window is not. Couldn’t keep windows open due to noise so it was hot and stuffy. Thankful for ceiling fan over the bed. Kitchen well equipped. Getting key out of lockbox was a challenge due to vines overgrown. Convenient to Hauptstraße so that was nice.
