Positive: No words to describe this AMAZING gem!! I found this place when considering rerouting from Aso to a different area, and it was such a great decision!! The suite is huge, beautifully decorated, with high ceilings, a balcony, amazing view to the beautiful fields and mountains, and the most amazing and spacious private onsen I could ever dream of!! It's pretty secluded which feels very private and romantic but also means you gotta rent a car to get there, and need to drive a relatively long distance to get anywhere (at least 10 min drive to the closest store/restaurant), so it's advised to book meals along with the room, or do your shopping in advance. The staff deliver daily sweets and a few complimentary drinks along with fresh amenities to your room, which was very nice :) It was the perfect place to unwind and relax, chill in the beautiful bath and just enjoy the serine view. I loved every second of it, and if I ever visit the area again I will definitely go back there!

Negative: While you *can* adjust the onsen water temp, it's by default pouring scalding hot water 24/7, so it takes a few minutes of running fresh cold water to balance it out - and you need to keep adding cold water if you stay there a while, as the hot water will just keep pouring in. It's not a deal breaker but was an inconvenience. We came by car from a long distance away and were 1.5 hours early to check-in. Before we even parked the car a staff member rushed to our car to inform us the check in is only at 15:00, which we were aware of. While he wasn't being rude, it felt like we were being told to leave, he didn't offer we wait in the lobby or suggested a place we might be able to stay in for coffee or something. It was a very cold December day and as the place is very secluded we didn't really have anywhere else to go. It's not unheard of to wait in the lobby if guests are a little early. We ended up driving off a little and just sitting in the car. It was very unpleasant and embarrassing. Our first night’s dinner was excellent. The second night felt more challenging for us in terms of the menu, and we didn’t enjoy it as much. We ended up leaving some dishes unfinished and got some funny looks from the staff which made us feel uncomfortable. That said, the staff were accommodating when we mentioned preferences in advance, so it’s worth being clear about likes and dislikes when booking. The alcohol pairing is very affordable but didn't really feel the drinks complimented the dishes. I recommend ordering a good bottle of wine instead, their wines are very nice. Having said all that, I feel the need to state we *really* enjoyed our stay despite of these small issues!

Positive: We had a rental car, so getting there was not a problem and absolutely worth the drive. It's such a peaceful location and we had a beautiful view of mountains and woods from the armchairs on our balcony, listening to the wind in the treetops and watching deer. The tatami bed was very comfortable and having an onsen in our room was obviously a real treat, although the shared external onsen were also nice. But the highlight was undoubtedly the 11-course dinner we enjoyed on both evenings, which was mind-blowing and almost worth the money itself - a real gem. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout. We wish we could have stayed longer and would not hesitate to stay again.

Negative: The in-room onsen is far too hot and adjusting the temperature is tricky as you have to pull out a plug in the corner to let out some of the hot water first, but doing so requires you to put your arm in the hot water, which is painful. There are also two plugs, one big and one small, but it's impossible to tell which one you're pulling out, so if you pull out the big plug the water level will drop very quickly and then you need to wait for a long time for it to fill up again. This was our only frustration during our stay.

Positive: The suite was amazing. It must have been over 1000 sq ft. It was their biggest onsen. The food was the best. We stayed 3 nights One night we had the best steak ever, another we had the best toro and the 3rd night we had amazing lamb chops.

Positive: Big room and space with lovely view and private onsen. We love the view and we are lucky saw few deers near our room. We had really good rest and stay.

Negative: Dinner has to make reservations in advance and we are not aware about it and its fully booked when we checked in.
