Positive: Friendly host who delivered coffee and buns to our door on freezing mornings.

Negative: The building is old and very cold during the winter weather. The toilet did not have a heated toilet seat (which has been standard everywhere else).

Positive: The host was smiley and kind and has the cutest dogs!! Cute breakfast, good facilities including a washing machine. Grear location - close to aso, convinience stores, cafe's, but still quiet and peaceful and right next to the river.

Positive: Very friendly owner but strict rules. Close to interesting locations and hikes but ideally you need a car here. Very helpful to have a washing machine. Looks exactly like exterior photo

Negative: There was frequently a smell of drains and one evening the smell and sound of ‘dirty water’ was bubbling up into the bath. There were limited sockets in the kitchen which made cooking tricky as eg. Not possible to boil kettle and heat hob at the same time. Somewhat unusual to find a sort of nylon ‘mattress protector’ strapped onto the bed and pillows and no sheet or pillowcases on top of this. Ideal for the owner to wash but less comfortable to sleep on.

Summary: Friendly owner, good location for visiting Aso volcanoes but you do need a car.it is directly in the fault line!
