The Creekside Cottage is a newly renovated, modern two-story vacation home situated on a park-like, six-acre oceanfront property known as the Seaward Estate. Historically, Seaward was one of five salmon trap sites along the Juan de Fuca Strait until the 1950s.
Seaward offers a variety of stunning natural landscapes, including two beaches with thousands of feet of picturesque coastline, West Coast forest, and woodland trails. It remains one of the most exceptional oceanfront properties in the Greater Victoria Region. With real estate values steadily increasing over the past two decades, many high-quality oceanfront properties have been subdivided and redeveloped. A large, original oceanfront estate like Seaward—preserved in its natural beauty and historical integrity—is truly rare.
The Creekside Cottage is located beside a small, natural creek and offers over 1,400 square feet of living space. The main floor features an open-concept layout with a living room, dining area, and kitchen. A south-facing wall of floor-to-ceiling windows provides breathtaking views of the Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympic Mountains. A cozy patio offers outdoor seating, a dining table, and a BBQ for guests to enjoy.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. The first is a loft-style room with a king-size bed, open to the living space below, with windows facing south directly toward the ocean. The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and three windows—one facing south toward the ocean and the other two overlooking the gardens and ocean to the west. A full bathroom with laundry facilities is located on the second floor, and a powder room is available on the main floor. Additionally, a small attic space accessible from the second bedroom provides the perfect hideaway for young children. A sofa bed in the living room offers extra sleeping accommodations.
A beach house on East Beach provides a place for children to play and adults to relax. Naturally, guests love spending time on the beaches. The East Beach features a flatter, pebbled surface, ideal for walking, while the West Beach offers giant rocks, hidden coves, and secret spots perfect for adventure. Many guests enjoy exploring the forest trails. Benches at the end of the Sunset Trail and Otter Trail are perfect for reading, wildlife watching, or enjoying a sunset. Summary: We were completely delighted with our recent stay at Creekside Cottage. It has excellent amenities, and is roomy, comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The setting and landscaping are gorgeous. It really has a terrific view of the ocean, even better than we expected.The location is perfect for folks like us who like something tucked away and idyllic, but don’t want to be too isolated. This feels very private, but is an easy hop to Sooke.We also really enjoyed our chats with caretaker Ray, who is very friendly and approachable and has a wealth of information about the area.In short, Seaward Cottages is a great place to stay, and we definitely plan to return!

Summary: Creekside Cottage was the perfect place for our girls getaway. Lots of room and the cottage had everything we needed. It was a great location, with many popular hiking, restaurants and beaches close by to explore. Ray, the maintenance manager, was also very attentive and provided extra towels and blankets. Hope to be back someday!

Summary: We wanted an ocean-front property where we could just sit, relax, walk on the beach, or sit near the shore watching and listening to the ocean…and this served our purpose wonderfully. Well-equipped home, with stunning views. Lovely paths/stairs to either beach with well maintained trail. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the incredible view. We didn’t leave the property for the duration of our visit. Large main floor, with all kinds of seating to enjoy the view, and all the kitchen amenities you could want. Upstairs with two bedrooms is cozy, with a shared bathroom. Both rooms have lots of space, and the one has a secret stairway to a kids’ place space. King bed is in a loft and open to below, but it has the most incredible views to wake up to! Some traffic noise from the main road, but the waves and the wind tend to drown it all out. Our first visit, but certainly won’t be our last. It was everything we hoped for!
