This is a ground floor unit with free parking just outside your door. There is a unit above this. There is a comfortable Queen bed and a Twin bed in the bedroom.
In the heart of Ocean View, 1 block from Hwy 11. Walking distance to the local stores and town bar & grill.
The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, stovetop, toaster oven, and coffee pot/coffee filters. Dishes, cooking utensils. Dish Soap, sponge, hand soap, trash bags, paper towel roll is provided, but not replenished during your stay.
The bathroom has a stand-up shower stall, and complementary size shampoo, conditioner, body wash.
This rental has a shared BBQ grill and gazebo. The house is about a block from restaurants, gas stations, a post office, and grocery stores. There is a keyless entry. You will be sent your code before arrival. No food is provided.
There is a private patio adjoining the bedroom, parking is also available on the side.

Summary: We used the Starfish as a home base while renovating our property in Ocean View. It is a clean, no frills roof over your head. The location is perfect for travel between both Kona & Hilo. If recently renovated as the description states, it still needs a new stove as only 1 burner works. And the saloon door in the bathroom does not provide for much privacy. I would like to suggest adding a grab bar to assist with safely navigating the step up into & out of the shower. The wet shower floor is a broken hip waiting to happen! P.S. we loved the property cat Pineapple. Very friendly & vocal!

Summary: Calm place, beautifuls sunsets. Appartment small but fully equipped also for a longer stay. Three supermarkets, farmer market, small restaurants close by. Very firendly and helpful host. Warmly recommended.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay. It was easy to access and right off the Hwy. Great location between the airport and Volcano national park and so much to see and do along the way. We met Taylor and his family who were very friendly and accommodating. We would stay here again if we are ever given the opportunity.

Summary: Lots of minor annoyances and not much peace and quiet. If you want to save money to spend on activities it's not bad. But if you want a quiet and welcoming place to come back to, maybe keep looking.

Summary: This is a multiple unit building, we stayed in the "Starfish" unit. The unit was clean and has a kitchen area (stove, fridge, etc...). Owner was working on the upstairs unit at the time and we had enjoyable conversation and watching the great progress on that unit. The host (Yvette) was amicable and helpful. We were happy with no complaints and it was budget friendly. Ocean View is a nice local town with just the essentials you might need. It is central to the island. We wanted to explore the entire island so this worked for us. We live in the largest state in the union so driving was not an issue. If the owner remodels on par with the upstairs unit then the "Starfish" will be an outstanding stay. We'd recommend staying here if on a budget and the location works for you.

Summary: This was the most spacious, well equipped and well furnished of the 3 Vrbo rentals we tried on this trip. The manager was on her first week managing this particular place and there were some glitches as a consequence but she put in extra effort and did her best to make everything right. The most challenging was the water tank running dry! But she personally brought us 11 gallons as soon as she was able. Everyone take heed: conserve water when you visit the islands! They get their water (pure and delicious) as rain. We are paying for unusually sunny weather with short showers, and glad to do our part.
