About the home
“Ocean Reach retreat” is a charming two-bedroom cottage located just 350m from The Colonnades, (a popular surf beach combining breathtaking views with great surf), and 1.7km from Cleeland Bight safety beach. And if you feel like taking a stroll, the supermarket, shops and cafes in the Cape Woolamai shopping centre are just a kilometre away. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:
Indoor Areas
The living quarters are found upstairs, containing the light-filled open plan kitchen / dining / living area (with Smart TV and Blu-ray DVD player) leading out to the expansive balcony. There are also two bedrooms, a bathroom (with shower), a separate toilet and laundry.
Outdoor Areas
The home features a wholly sheltered outdoor living area with a Weber BBQ and furniture. There is a huge yard for the kids to run around in, ample off-street parking for your car and a boat, and a cold-water shower to wash off the sand after your fun day at the beach.
Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, a Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a sink, fridge, electric oven and cook top.
Heating/Cooling Systems
The main living area is generously appointed with a wall mounted reverse cycle split-system unit in the main living, a ceiling fan, and a coonara-style fireplace (wood not provided). There is also a pedestal fan and two oil heaters that can be used when required.
Bedding Configuration
This home has 3 beds, accommodating up to 4 guests:

Linen
It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. Summary: The building is older but clean, well equipped with all you will need. There is a washing machine but no dryer, a drying rack is supplied but very small, a much larger one would have been helpful, otherwise, the beds were very comfortable and I would stay there again.

Summary: My husband and I and our 2 teenage daughters had the most wonderful time is this lovely property. Just a 5 minute walk to the ocean beach, beautifully furnished, well-equipped and warm. We will be back for sure!

Summary: Overpriced but good. Tastefully furnished, cosy feel but too small for a family of four with 2 adult children. Fantastic location, close to the beach and a very quiet, safe, residential area, beautiful deck but often very windy. You can hear the wind rattle the walls at night! Kids mattresses way too small for adults, bathroom also small. Toiletries a nice touch and generally a light, positive feel. Great for a few days, max a week.

Summary: We loved it ! What looks like a pretty typical Island beach house on the outside is full of light and charm on the inside. A really nice home. Close to both the safety and surf beach and at quieter end of the Island it was exactly what we were after. What a great place to share some of my childhood experiences with my family of growing up on the Island from.
