Positive: Oak Mead is squirrelled away in the most beautiful setting of Wales. It was so beautifully laid out and decorated and cozy. The shower pressure / temps was one of the best things after being on the roads all day in the icy weather.

Positive: Lovely property off the main roads (but not far from pubs, shops etc) very quiet and beautiful views. Menna and Tom very good hosts. We stayed during Storm Darragh and woke up to a power cut which affected a large part of the area. Having the fire was lovely to keep us warm and Menna made sure we had anything we needed for our stay until the power could be restored. We unfortunately had to cut our stay short to get home from the storm but would definitely stay here again in the future.

Negative: We really enjoyed our stay. My only addition would be to add a guest book so people can write in during their stay (I love reading other people’s comments and their recommendations for the local area)

Positive: The accommodation was very nice, there were thoughtful touches such as tea, coffee, milk and biscuits provided alongside a booklet full of valuable information for our stay. We were greeted by the owner on arrival which was nice too. No problems getting onto the property upon arrival. Surrounding area close to amenities and things to do.

Negative: Unfortunately the view I was expecting from the pictures was not as expected as we were in the side upper room. As it is a barn, the room was very noisy and we could here other guests across the different accommodations, such as dogs barking and people talking and playing the piano. Me and my husband found this irritating.. there were also lots of wasps near the patio doors which stopped me sitting on the balcony which was one of the reasons I initially booked so we could hopefully sit outside with our coffee in a morning. The couch is uncomfortable. There were also lots of flys entering the accommodation, unsure how they were getting in but we had to keep trying to get rid of them. Overall there were some lovely touches and it's created a great base for exploring but it did not meet my expectations and I would not stay again.
