Positive: The property was beautiful, with everything you need, lots of space and really comfortable beds. Inn across the road, served amazing food and staff were excellent, wish we were staying longer.

Positive: Airy rooms and comfortable beds. Beautiful fireplace and lovely kitchen .

Negative: Kitchen could have been better equipped eg not enough mugs and knives were not sharp so difficult when cooking. Lacked the little touches that we have come to expect of self catering cottages eg fresh milk and bread / cookies for arrival. The master bedroom would benefit from using the space for an en suite. With a jack and Jill en-suite for the other two bedrooms leaves the occupant of the master suite having to go downstairs to use toilet facilities. Shower was leaking and dripping through ceiling - reported this

Summary: Ideal location and lovely cottage. Could be made perfect with a few minor tweaks !

Negative: It wasn’t clean, slats missing from the bathroom blind that faced the road, the dishwasher was full upon arrival, the fireplace was filthy and had not been cleaned out and what felt like sand was in the main bedroom

Positive: We fell in love with Oak Lodge the minute we arrived. It was a perfect home from home but also a great base from which to explore the four waterfalls. The pub/restaurant next door was second to none. We will not forget our meal last night for a very long time. The icing on the cake was the beautiful zoo. Absolutely charming and all of the animals so happy, well cared for and in great condition. Very highly recommended as a family getaway.

Negative: Zero complaints!

Negative: We found the set up slightly impractical. 2 bedrooms had the Janet and John doors to the bathroom but third bedroom had to access same bathroom thru an above mentioned newsrooms or use downstairs. Although I’m being super nit picky we had an amazing time at the lodge.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyed. Amazing food in Penycae inn. Great location will def be back.
