Summary: The room is clean, but it’s very basic. It doesn’t even have a hair dryer or a mini fridge. Since it’s a student residence, people make a lot of noise at night and even into the early hours of the morning. The only things it has going for it are the great location and the low price, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Summary: The Oak House is in great location with public transportation nearby and lots of places to eat as well as about 40 min walk to the harbor. Because this is a campus during school year there are no snack and soda machines but there are many surrounding pla es to get food and drink. No housekeeping under 7 day stay but I prefer that.

Summary: A beautiful, brand new university residence. I arrived around 2:15 to check in but it was too early as check in time is only 4 pm. That's a bit late for check-in in my opinion, 3 pm seems to be pretty standard. Anyhow, they held my bags and I walked around the neighbourhood to kill some time and ended up coming back around 4:45 in a time crunch and they had mass confusion about my room and it then took another 15 minutes to check in while they tried to find out who they had given my room to and why it wasn't me and then allocate and check a new room for me...ugh... the rooms are basic of course but stocked with soap, shampoo and body wash...would be nice if there was a shelf in the shower for any of that stuff. Bed was comfy. Temperature control limited to cool to 20....not great for a cool sleeper. Check-out time is 11 a.m. which is early considering check in is 4 pm. Otherwise, a great walkable neighbourhood with good shopping and dining and easy subway access and a value for downtown Toronto, especially in this area where there is little other hotel-type accomodation.

Summary: If you need a place to stay in downtown Toronto for a night or two, but don't want to pay exorbitant rates, the Oak House is your answer. Throughout most of the year, it's one of the student dorms used by the University of Toronto. During the summer, it turns into a hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff are friendly and professional. And the security is tight, too. It's also located close to public transit and a number of shops and restaurants. This was a last minute choice for me, but I am glad I found it.

Summary: Very clean building and room, properly was in a nice part of Toronto. lots of amenities in the building. AC was on high and you don’t have control of it but better to have a cold room than a hot room. Overall happy with stay.

Summary: It was a great stay! We were pleasantly surprised that we had 2 connecting dorm rooms for the price of 1. They were clean and minimal. Just a bed, desk, dresser, and closet. Nothing else was needed. AC was good too and the view was amazing!

Summary: Overall I was happy with stay. The rooms were a nice size and comfortable. The location was great for my needs My only complaint was it seemed a little pricey for a Uni dorm room.

Summary: A great new dorm! Much nicer than my dormsThe rooms are super spacious. A ton of people hung out here during the World Cup, and while the atmosphere was really fun and energetic, it never felt like an overwhelming party. Having ping pong and billiards around is awesome, too. Right in the middle of everything Toronto has to offer.
