Guest will have access to the whole downstairs apartment, it is not shared.
There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.
The Neighborhood:
You can't choose a better location - the quiet street is easy walking distance to the bustling nightlife of the H St Corridor and NoMa and boasts a 95% "Walk Score" which deems us a "walkers paradise" from a reputable source! Guests can stroll to the United States Capitol Building in under 30 minutes, and stroll to the hub of the major sights - Union Station - in 15.
The food mecca that is Union Market is also within walking distance, not to be missed! You are also just a short stroll from the most popular bars and restaurants in the city. From live music, comedy, improv, and stage plays, those interested in the arts or just looking to see something new will not be disappointed! Fancy more museums? You are just a short walk, or two metro stops away from the Smithsonian mall with endless museums, monuments, and much more!
Getting Around:
No need for a car, you can walk or metro to everything. Nearby Uber and Lyft rides are plentiful (and we provide coupon codes for both services) as well as Capital Bikeshares / Jump (Uber`s scooter and bike service) surrounding the neighborhood - bike the monuments for a cinematic experience unlike any other!
The D.C. Streetcar and several buses can whisk guests all over the city. The stop is a 5 minute stroll from the apartment.NoMa-Gallaudet U New York Ave Station is a 7 minute stroll from the apartment.
Should you wish to drive we can provide one on-street parking permit, and also have excellent parking resources for while out and about in the city. Union station is very close, and they offer all day rates at roughly $20 a day.Amtrak runs overland trains (New York & Richmond) and Metro (Red line) connects to the whole city. You can also pick up metro buses and tour buses to see the city.

Summary: Our family loved our DC trip and this property is in an ideal location. We easily walked to Union Market, the Metro, CVS, and more. For being in the heart of the City, the street itself was quiet at night. We heard the family upstairs a little bit and were mindful of quiet hours.I get the impression that a company oversees this rental, because each email was answered by a different person. We didn't get instructions for check-in by the time we arrived in DC, but they were quick to reply when I reached out for the info.Bedding, dishes, supplies were all great. Super nice to have shower toiletries since we didn't pack them. Thank you for everything. We loved our trip!

Summary: Great spot in DC, just a short walk from Union Market and Metro. Can get just about anywhere quickly and easily from here. Communication from hosts was wonderful, place was tidy and appointed with everything we needed for a few day-stay with our kids. Kitchen is def more kitchenette, but worked well for simple breakfasts before a day of sight seeing.

Summary: The rental was exactly as advertised! Super convenient to the Metro station so we could easily get around to all the monuments and museums. It was in a great neighborhood and had everything our family (two adults and two tweens) needed. The place is cute, the beds were comfy, and the bathroom was small but clean and very functional for our 5 nights. We had a small issue getting the visitor parking pass prior to our arrival but Lara was very responsive and solved the problem for us. We were able to print out the pass before arriving and found a convenient spot right on the street near the house. Would totally recommend this rental or stay here again.
