Positive: I loved everything about the property. However, what I loved most about the property were the rooms, we stayed at the beach villa and the direct access to the beach was magical and the room was so neat, everything looked new and kept clean.

Positive: Location is a dream, the staff is great always looking for was to make the stay better. The birthday flowers were amazing stayed beautiful for the entire week, still looked fresh as the day they were delivered when we left. Food is amazing.

Negative: Needs to be remodeled, the couch had 2 extream dents from years of use, the mattress was in the same shape. Tiny ants are real problem, they were all over the drinks that were in the room when we arrived. They sprayed once, the ant trail on the wall disappeared for 2 days then was back. The private pools are NOT heated, and cold, but that is not mentioned. 1 week next to the tennis courts when other villas were used for shorter stays was not the best option, at least we didn’t need a night light the tennis court took care of that. They booked the helicopter transfer perfectly, but missed my request for a late check out that was in the same message requesting the helicopter. The 10:00 check out was pushed to 13:00, they couldn’t do anything more. Then ignored my message showing them where I requested the late check out 1 month prior. So we sat in an empty lounge for 2 hours, with nothing but room temperature water. Online schedule doesn’t match information board about buffet dining.

Summary: Average, but declining do to bad decisions from higher up.

Positive: - we had a peaceful week's stay (not many kids and it wasn't busy) - the resort and views are gorgeous and serene - island is full of nature and animals (crabs everywhere, turtles, tortoises, lizards, bats and flies galore) - the staff were amazing with us, so helpful and accommodating (i had a beetle in my food on the first night at the buffet so we moved to another restaurant) - Beautiful how the resort and spa are built around the rocks - we stayed in the beach front villa, really good sized rooms and bathrooms Other notes for travellers: - One thing to note is that all kitchens are outdoors except at Portobello so you will get some insects in your food - Portobello restaurant is outstanding and Gran Kaz!!!! - bring your own mosquito spray, the resort once costs £25-30

Negative: - the Hilton on Mahe island where we waited for the jetty is absolutely awful. The lady who wears the blue turban has attitude and on the way back home when we arrived we were going to wait there until 8pm for our flight at 12am but there was a wedding there and no one told us!!! It was so awkward and uncomfortable and ruined the last day of our honeymoon. No communication about it for us to be able to make alternative plans. The taxi pick up to the airport was too early. - the boat times are very early so we ended up waiting around - there's no pharmacy on the island - the rooms were old and outdated (this was one of the downsides of our trip) although the view and bathrooms were beautiful - would be good for rooms to have mosquito nets around the bed so we can sleep peacefully rather than waking up bitten - was difficult to ask for mosquito spray and coils but eventually got them from the staff - the restaurant Aria and La Brizan are the same, they share the same menu so for lunch there's only really one restaurant and you could easily spend £60+ for two lunch meals plus drinks - the jetty and taxis were unnecessarily expensive - underwhelming honeymoon decor but the rest of the trip made up for it - i usually love asian food but wasn't impressed with the restaurant Sakura - we were told AFTER booking that the teppanyaki restaurant is closed until further notice (only because I asked and no reason given. This should be stated somewhere) - we were also told yoga won't be provided until further notice but i spoke to Rebecca who was absolutely amazing and she organised a 121 session. There were yoga classes at the spa at 8am Other things to note: - i found there to be a lot of older vistors at Hilton
