Positive: This accommodation was great for my stay in Hiroshima. Just under a 10 minute walk from Hiroshima station, this accommodation had all the necessary amenities for my family’s stay. The host is responsive and assisted me throughout the entire stay for any concerns I had. The inside has two floors, that are both spacious enough for a decent sized group to stay in. The second floor has a tatami room that gives you the experience of a traditional Japanese home. And the tatami beds were amazing! You’re provided with indoor slippers, and one umbrella. There are even instant coffee packets you could use if you wanted to make coffee in the morning. And the washroom and shower room are separate, so that there aren’t any conflicts should a member of the group wants to use either or.

Negative: There was some small downsides to the accommodation however. The staircase going up to the second floor feels quite narrow, and a bit steep. So, having an elderly family member going up to the second floor could pose as an issue. Especially if they were to go to the washroom at night. Secondly, to get to the washroom if you’re sleeping on the second floor, is a bit of a distance and then you would need to keep in the mind the stairs, but otherwise, not too much of an issue. And lastly, the shower room does not have a door that separates the inside from the living room. It is separated by a curtain. Although the curtain is not see through, and still provides privacy, it could be an inconvenience for some future guests. But due to the lay out of the property, I can see what it is a curtain instead of a door.

Positive: The apartment is superb. Huge for Japanese standards. Every single detail was taken care. From the towels to the amenities. The bed is wonderful. The location is convenient if you want a very quiet place just to sleep and relax. Close to Hiroshima station. On the other side, the mneighborhood is 100% residential so do not expect to have many restaurants nearby.

Negative: The stairs up to the bedroom were very steep and made it difficult to carry luggage up, especially for my injured friend.

Positive: Great location - very convenient to Zoom Zoom Stadium (Go the Carp!); short walk to Hiroshima station which is fantastic for connections elsewhere - including streetcars to Peace Park, Atomic Bomb Dome and Hondori shopping street. Spacious; clean; authentic backstreet location in the "Ekimae". Felt safe and comfortable there, and futon beds were very comfortable.

Negative: Narrow steps up to upper level (we are older folk) - but was doable and there were only 10 or so. Would be a bit cosy for multiple couples, but a family of 5-6 would be ideal and spacious by comparison with hotels.

Summary: Comfortable and convenient. Would stay again - particularly if we want to catch a game of baseball!
