Positive: Hosts were extremely helpful and accomodating. Location is quaint and scenic. Bed is clean and comfortable. Price is decent. There is a very friendly dog there also.

Negative: Light sleepers take note - light streams into the room, someone was singing karaoke extremely loudly night before our marathon. Dogs barking Floor of ground-level room floorbwas abit dirty Consider ordering grab food in instead of asking them to cook

Positive: The host is a very kind and communicative person, always attentive to make sure we were comfortable. He even adapted some breakfast items to suit our preferences. The property is beautiful, surrounded by limestone cliffs, rice fields, and lakes. The rooms are tastefully designed and we really appreciated being able to use the bicycles free of charge. Overall it was a good value for money.

Negative: On the other hand, the cleanliness of the room could be improved. We stayed for 9 nights and even when we asked for it the room was never cleaned (they took out the trash once and changed towels twice). The room needed a proper cleaning when we arrived - it was full of dust under the bed and stains on the bathroom. The lack of maintenance was also evident in other parts of the hotel like the free bicycles, the pool table, and the rental motorbikes. The location, while scenic, isn’t very practical. Even though it looks close to Trang An, it’s actually quite difficult to reach. The road to the hotel floods heavily when it rains — the water can go up to your knees (there was also water inside the room when the rain was strong). There aren't dining options around (at least a 15-minute bike ride to the nearest roadside restaurant, and about 40 minutes to the city). We had dinner at the hotel for the first nights, but we don’t recommend it as we had a couple of very negative surprises- we found a piece of glass in the pho, a worm in the vegetables and we saw a rat in the restaurant area.

Positive: A beautiful place tucked away among the limestone karsts, run by a sweet family. They're quick to help answer questions and make sure your concerns are met (they rely on Google Translate to communicate at this time, so please be patient). The food is amazing!! And I really loved the facilities here, specifically being able to sit on the pier/patio and fish while enjoying the beautiful views.

Negative: Personally for me, the bed is way too firm in the dorms where I needed to prop my legs up to save my lower back. But this is a preference thing and could work well for others. Room and bathroom was not cleaned or tidied up while I was there, but not sure if this is a normal thing everywhere.

Positive: A beautiful place, very quiet, comfortable bed. The evening meal we were cooked was delicious! We were able to have an early check-in, and were able to have free use of bikes which was a big bonus!

Negative: The A/C had an error message meaning it wasn’t effective; thankfully there was also a big fan in the room. The whole bathroom gets soaked when you shower! A staff member was sick and the others didn’t speak English so we had to use google translate to communicate.

Summary: A beautiful and comfortable place to stay, but be aware it is very remote!

Positive: We loved the location, outside of the city quite, calm and relaxing. It is in a super green valley. We rented both bikes and moved to Ninh Binh Tran Ang and Tam Coc during the day, everything is really easy to reach and not too far ( around 6-7 km to the city). The owner family is amazing and super friendly. They helped us with travel bookings and suggestions on events and what to see in the area. The weee really kind. We slept in the dormitory. The room was clean and was equipped both with air conditioner and fan. Super recommended!!

Positive: The family who welcomed us were friendly and kind. They cooked delicious home cooked food for us everyday including breakfast and dinner. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was new with a new bath. It could benefit from having a shower curtain to have a shower but this was not a problem. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well here. The home is quiet, peaceful and remote so if your looking for an escape this is the place. We borrowed 2 of their great bikes and cycled to Trang An which was beautiful and not very far.

Negative: Lovely little place, nothing we didn't like.

Positive: Ninh Hoa Retreat is at the end of a road in a beautiful, quiet location that is run by very kind, thoughtful hostesses. They made very delicious Vietnamese meals both nights that were reasonably priced. A Vietnamese breakfast was included, but they happily served great coffee, eggs or fruit at my request. The room was a good size, clean, and had AC/heater, a soft mattress and hot shower. After 4 weeks in Vietnam, I found this to be one of the best places I stayed at.
