Positive: Modern twist to an old tale.. Beautifully crafted old beach side homes with a touch of modern class and feel.. A quiet little town just down the road of the hustle n bustle of Shizuoka. A handful of local shops, coffee to biscuits, craft beer to izykayas..

Negative: A little too white for my liking.. was hoping for a little more Japanese old style.. but that’s all I got… And this is not complaint.. next time we come with friends and take the bigger house..

Positive: Cute townhouse with all of the amenities that you could ever ask for! We loved the staff as well as the traditional breakfasts. HIGhLY recommend the traditional meals!

Negative: There were quite a bit of bugs which we understand were probably unavoidable due to the weather

Positive: I liked this hotel very much, on arrival it was a little out of the way from Shizuoka city. but the staff was very warm and friendly and helped us with our luggage and check in process was smooth. The room was huge and we loved the separate eating area and rooms. the projector was a nice touch and kept our family entertained. The bathtub was huge and we loved that we could open the door so it was not too stuffy. The wooden tub is a nice touch. Breakfast was amazing and well thought of with all the local dishes and everything was prepared in the room. Overall a wonderful stay with a peaceful and beautiful location!

Negative: nothing to complain! maybe just better signage at the roadside for easier navigation for taxi drivers

Positive: Everything. Awesome decor, great staff, very relaxing, and can’t beat the morning cook-to-order breakfast by a local lady! Will stay there again if in the area!

Positive: The architecture was beautiful with a blend of traditional wooden pieces and modern appliances. The breakfast we were served was truly one of a kind with beautiful fresh produce used from the local area. The staff who prepared our breakfast were also very kind and explained each element of the dishes to us. The house was very spacious and comfortably fit our family of 4 and we all enjoyed wearing our complimentary yukata pyjamas. There were both beds and futons available which was also nice. The amenities provided were of a very high quality and we particularly loved the facemasks and haircare.

Summary: Overall we loved staying at Nihon Iro the house was so beautiful and the staff were excellent.
