Bring a bike or take advantage of the two bus lines that are just steps from your door – either way, you’re within minutes of Fifth Street Market, the Hult Center, Saturday Market, the University of Oregon campus and Hayward Field, or Autzen Stadium. It’s only 20 minutes by car to the Lorane Valley wine country, less than 60 to the whitewater beauty of the McKenzie River, and less than 90 to hike or ski the Cascades. Nothing’s out of reach from this location!
The one-story 1950s-vintage house features two bedrooms, a full bath, hardwood floors, a fireplace, a private fenced and landscaped backyard (roses and fruit trees!) and a laundry. Thanks to the addition of a ductless heat pump, there is AC. The full-sized kitchen is equipped with all the appliances you’ll need to pull together breakfast at the dinette or serve dinner in the dining room. If there’s business on your schedule, there’s a workstation in the master bedroom and WiFi throughout the house. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, friendly, and eclectic.
Said a recent guest: 'Nifty Thrifty was the perfect choice...ideally located, close to shopping, public transit, the university, and Amazon Park with its bicycle & running trails, children's playground and a great dog park. The home is spotless with all the extras one could need, even a garage for the car. The back yard was perfect, completely fenced with plants and lawn and a small patio with a table and chairs. The neighborhood is extremely quiet with very little traffic other than the local residents. All in all, we couldn't have been more pleased...and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a vacation rental in Eugene.'

Summary: It was like being at home. Very clean and cozy. Great beds. Almost everything needed to prepare family dinners. We had a birthday party, Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day dinner. Abundant towels and bedding. Ellen let us know that she would provide anything we needed. Nine days back in my old home town with family friends. We will definitely rent again.

Summary: We were in town for a multi-venue music event. The house was perfectly located to every place we needed to be. Place was clean and well stocked with linen, towels and blankets. Blankets were good since house sleeps a little chilly in the colder months. Be sure to bring socks and slippers and your fave blankets if you get cold easy. Would have been nice to have balanced out the fact cable wasn't working in the main bedroom for one night with having 2 extra adult family members who came down for the event for 15 hours, but rules are rules. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. Thank you Ellen

Summary: Staying at Nifty Thrifty was perfect in most every way. The kitchen has just about everything you'd need to make a fancy dinner plus a cake for dessert. We cooked as much as possible and found even the knives to be sharp (not often the case in other rentals). The beds were cozy making sleep a sure thing. We shopped at the local markets and found the bread and baked goods at Great Harvest irresistible. We enjoyed Coburg for its great antique shops, not far from Eugene and took walks at the nearby Amazon Park. So much to do and see. We will be back!
