Summary: Beautiful property a tiny oasis all to yourselves. It is a stunning property The owner is super pleasant has thought of everything to make it cozy and is happy to give tips on where to go in New Orleans. Couldn't have found a better place to stay. Only downside is the bed is too firm for me but I'm used to a super soft bed.

Summary: Herb greeted us upon arrival, had suggestions for local places to eat and tips for visiting the city. Herb is very knowledgeable, considerate and kind. Property is beautiful and NOT haunted. Can’t wait to go back and drink wine in the garden.

Summary: Herb has thought of everything, all details perfect. He is an excellent host, full of great info to help you enjoy your stay. Thinking of other stays that are “good” but one thing or another is missing, the lovely thing here is that we found nothing lacking. Enough pillows and towels and tables and hangers and seating!—Great kitchen! Nicely decorated with a homey feel. Cozy garden! The apartment is downstairs and the host lives upstairs, very quiet with no noise issues at all. (Heads up of you have mobility issues, the shower is a big clawfoot tub you have to step up / down to get in/ out.)The house is on a quiet street with many great restaurants nearby. Bus stop is very close and you can easily get around without a car. It’s nice to be in a quiet spot at night but still have the center of town within easy reach.

Summary: Very quaint suite in a very nice neighborhood, close to good dining and grocery store. The only fault I could find was the tube/shower. Hard to get in and out of safely. The host was a great guy and made us feel at home. Highly recommend it especially if you don’t have to spend a lot of time in the quarter.

Summary: Lagniappe on De Soto is a very cozy and eclectic hangout. Very comfortable king size bed. Nice garden in the back. Herb and Louie are very congenial hosts, well informed about the neighborhood and NOLA in general. We didn't know much about Bayou St. John, but it is a great little jewel of an area away from the touristy chaos of the Quarter. It has terrific restaurants and attractions of its own.
