Positive: The view of the mountains and Ramboda Falls from our apartment, including the shower was absolutely stunning, couldn’t have been any better. Great shower but don’t try to use the massage jets because there’s not enough water pressure. comfortable bed, plenty of space everywhere, warm and friendly host and a good breakfast of Sri Lankan coconut pancakes and a fruit platter included. The host also offers great Sri Lankan food in the Restaurant for dinner which was really appreciated. This is a hidden gem in Labookellie near all the tea factories and we highly recommend it.

Negative: Nothing.

Positive: Resort with an impressive view, floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows along the entire exterior wall. There is a spacious terrace around the entire perimeter of the room, where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. Private parking. The room is very large and spacious. Comfortable beds. A luxurious bathroom with hot water and bright lighting. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a hairdryer are provided. Perfect cleanliness. A kettle and cups are available in the room. Wi-Fi works well. Fried eggs are served for breakfast, but they are cooked with a lot of oil, so they don’t taste good. Toast with jam and fruit are also served. This hotel is cheaper than most of the surrounding ones.

Negative: There is no table and chairs inside, only bedside tables. We had dinner using an ironing board... One of the lights was burnt out and couldn’t be replaced in the evening because the ceilings are very high. As a result, the room was too dark. There is a refrigerator, but it is very small and dirty inside. If these problems are fixed, the hotel would be excellent...

Positive: You would want to book this place simply for the view which is honestly 11/10. Absolutely amazing, you have the whole balcony for yourself so you can technically enjoy 270° views over the mountain range with tea fields, a river/riffle flowing by, misty clouds closing in, mesmerising colours of sunrise and shades of mountains moving as the sun rises. The room itself is spacious (has two double beds) and has pretty great amenities, including a fridge and an iron+ironing board. It is the only accommodation in Sri Lanka (in my travels) that had travel adapters provided in the room. The service was very friendly throughout the stay, I was welcomed warmly and offered a cold coke as a greeting. They also have a restaurant downstairs where they offer authentic and tasty local food while being able to enjoy the same amazing views. I needed a ride to Dickoya the next day, and the owner offered to take me at a very reasonable price, driving through rather small roads through local villages and tea estates, and this 2hr journey became one of the highlights of my whole trip.

Negative: I have to say, it's not that it was particularly unclean but somehow just felt a bit icky and smelled mouldy, especially the bathroom which was very bad. It is probably due to high humidity so they would really need to address the ventilation. I believe some more sensitive or allergic people could develop some breathing issues there. The restaurant actually gave a similar vibe. I think the place has so much potential but feels a bit sloppy, it could be given much more love and care by cleaning and making it cosy through details like adding plants, decorations etc. For one person it is a bit pricey considering the conditions but of course, you pay for the view.

Summary: Unbelievably amazing views to enjoy on a balcony all by yourself

Positive: Breathtaking view, an absolute masterpiece. Exactly as on the pictures, maybe even better in real life :) Clean rooms.

Negative: It’s a little bit further away from the city. The hosting family can organize a tour on minivan for you or you can find tuktuk in the city for yourself.

Summary: Great view, a little further from the city, so expect some additional costs for the travelling.

Positive: The room was spacious and in very good condition, with a nice design compared to many other hotels and homestays in Sri Lanka. The breakfast was fabulous, and the dinner was also very tasty. Of course, the view was the main reason we visited this place, and it was truly lovely and beautiful.

Negative: To be honest, I wasn’t expecting it to be as loud as it was. It was very hard to sleep because our room and windows were directly next to the main road. There was constant noise from outside, so I don’t think light sleepers would manage well. I had imagined this would be a more peaceful place. When you take a shower, there are no curtains, so the whole bathroom gets flooded. We asked for an extra towel to deal with this, and they did give us one, although they didn’t seem very happy about the request. Going from the shower straight to the toilet when the floor is covered in water is quite uncomfortable. Adding a shower curtain would easily solve this issue. The location itself was also very inconvenient for us. No one wanted to pick us up via PickMe. If the hotel is simply on your route, it’s fine, but if you’re continuing onward (like we were, heading to Ella), it’s not ideal. Getting from this place to the train station was a real hassle.

Negative: Bathroom had a bit of a fuzzy smell and the place is Located out of the city centre, we didn’t check this before. It’s a 30 min drive up the hill to Nuwara Eliya. If you don’t mind this the place is great.
