Positive: Absolutely loved our stay here. They are very communicative and helpful. If you are looking for a no-frills, simple set up in a quiet location, away from the big tourist resorts, then you will love this place. We felt like we had really escaped. The incredible hospitality, the sea on our doorstep, and the fact you can WhatsApp to order drinks and food, any time of day, to be delivered to your bungalow or the beach is the cherry on the icing. We spent a lot of time lounging on hammocks, listening to the sound of the sea and wildlife and finished off with an amazing massage at their spa tucked into the mangroves just behind the resort.
Negative: Not the fault of the owners, because they are all over Bintan, but I was eaten alive by the sandflies. The resort provides creams but come prepared and equipped. Also, and this is my only criticism, the bedding is in need of renewing. The sheets and mosquito nets have seen better days and the room fans are a bit old and ineffective. Luckily we had a bit of a breeze from the sea, but it was very warm on a couple of nights.

Positive: I really liked that it was an eco resort. I knew there was no aircon or hot water showers, so I was prepared, but I didn't really miss it. It was so hot the showers were refreshing. I was able to quietly watch a lot of native animals in their own environment, Monkeys, Squirrels, Monitor Lizards, Crabs and Micro bats. I witnessed monkeys jumping off the tree branches into the river and swimming underwater. So amazing. I went in March and April so there was a really great sea breeze to cool down, and plenty of fans in the bedroom. Mosquito nets were extremely important as they love to bite me, so I was grateful I had an insect proof haven. I took my own home made non toxic insect repellant which worked great. The food was good, the staff were very accommodating and Marc my host was exceptional. I hurt my back on the way over on the plane and he arranged a local healer to come, she was amazing and I could walk properly within days of her treatments. Marc also accommodated my request to meet with the local indigenous tribe in order to gain cultural understanding, it was an amazing experience. The resort day spa ladies were very professional and great at their job recommending different oils to improve circulation etc. I am a solo traveler and only able to speak English, Mark hooked me up with a delightful young taxi driver who was very clear with his English and courteous at all times. I spent a whole month here trying to recalibrate myself after a few stressful years. This was the perfect environment to do this. At times I did not want to interact with others, so I had the space to do this. Later when I felt more energetic, I had the opportunity to mix with others and met some amazing travelers. The beach and water were amazing as the staff kept this part of the island very clean and reduced of sandflies. Coming from Australia, it was great to know while swimming I didn't have to worry about sharks!!!
Negative: I understood measures had to be taken to keep the mosquito and sandflies under control, however staff needed to give more notice for the fogging so that I could leave my area as there are no windows in the cabin to escape from the fumes. Or maybe put a sign in the room informing visitors that it happens every week on a certain day so they can be prepared.
Summary: I loved the fact that this business supports so many families on the island.

Positive: My girlfriend and I had a splendid time at this resort! I don’t think I’ve ever been treated so well as a guest as I have at this resort (especially for the price). The beach was lovely; there were many options for activities, but we opted to swim and look for hermit crabs. The room was also very lovely! It was very comfortable and not nearly as rustic as I thought it was going to be. I was not expecting to have WiFi in the rooms and the beach! We also got massages and those were awesome, highly recommend. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend some time in Bintan or on the beach. Hopefully will return someday.
Negative: There are lots of sandflies, but they give complementary cream to keep the bugs off you. And if you get bit, they offer cream.
Summary: An unexpected wonderful experience for an amazing price.

Positive: Owner Marc and staff are so kind and helpful. One of the guys even helped me start a BBQ. There was also an added bonus of a beach bonfire. What great little sanctuary of peace and quiet, away from the city. This is not a fancy 5-star resort, it is a clean, comfortable and cozy eco-lodge that is very much in harmony with its natural surroundings. Perfect place to unwind and relax amidst nature and surrounding kampung life. Plus, there’s great snorkeling nearby...and the wood-fired pizza is delicious!
Summary: I highly recommend this place to people who are seeking to get away from the hustle and bustle.
