Summary: The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They are the reason our stay was so great. They made sure we had everything we needed gave us recommendations for what to do, and even helped us after checkout get a taxi. They have a private Japanese bath which is a great way to relax after a long walking day. I highly recommend staying here!

Summary: I greatly enjoyed my stay at Murataya, a fantastic little ryokan placed excellently along the Katamachi/Korinbo districts. The service was attentive and the rooms were clean, with delicious tea provided alongside an insulated pitcher to be prepared at one's convenience. The communal bathroom is functional and has an attached public but very small onsen. The host spoke good English as well as Japanese and was able to provide plenty of recommendations for locations to visit. The Japanese breakfast was home-cooked and delicious. I would highly recommend it (just consider that if checking in late, you have to reserve it the day before, but there shouldn't be a shortage of delicious breakfast in Kanazawa anyways). One note is that the rooms are poorly insulated due to the large Japanese windowframes, which also let in plenty of light early in the morning. Another note is that the stairwells for some rooms are very steep, so notify the front desk if you experience any mobility issues or similar.

Summary: We absolutely loved our stay! We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves even though there were other guests. The staff are truly so lovely and the room was beautiful. Overall, we would love to go back and highly recommend to anyone!

Summary: This is a very charming inn, clean and tidy. I really enjoyed the friendly and warm service from the owners, whom I believe are family. They greeted me when I came in & wished me well when I would leave. They always asked if I needed anything and were so helpful. I really enjoyed it and would return again.
