Positive: The Highlights: 1. Exceptional Service: The staff are superb—respectful, quick, and very responsive to requests. The owners are incredibly hospitable; they personally showed us around the area to find local beaches and activities. They even waived the fees for the videoke and a sachet of toothpaste, which was a kind gesture. 2. Spacious Accommodations: The rooms are excellent. They are massive, featuring a separate bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bathroom. We occupied five rooms; those on the 2nd and 3rd floors have balconies with stunning sea views. 3. Affordable buffet: For $199 PHP per person, the buffet offers a good variety of seafood, chicken and vegetable at a reasonable price. A few options but I believe are good enough for the price. 4 Morning walks: Low tide (5:00 AM – 7:00 AM) is wonderful for kids; you can walk the sea floor and see seashells and crabs. If you walk a bit further out toward the sea during this time, you can reach a sandy area that is perfect for a good morning swim.

Negative: The Drawbacks: 1. Check-in Delays: We arrived at 12:30 PM and understood that check-in was at 2:00 PM. We used the videoke to pass the time, but we weren't able to fully check in until 3:00 PM. Only a couple of rooms were ready at 2:00 PM, and we had to wait for the others to be cleaned. 2. Pool Maintenance: We stayed specifically for the pool, but it was unusable. It was brown upon arrival and green by morning due to heavy chlorine. The chemical smell was overpowering, and the concentration was high enough to bleach a black shirt to red. 3. Limited Amenities: Only minimal shampoo and soap are provided; we had to drive to a 7-Eleven for basic toiletries. 4. Dining Delays & Fees: Breakfast was not ready until 9:30 AM. There is also a mandatory 10% service fee, and because the location is isolated, there are no other nearby options. While the food is good, drinks are not included and are payable separately, even water. 5. Afternoon Sea Conditions: The sea is non-swimmable in the afternoon due to rocks and strong waves. Without a functional pool, there are no swimming options later in the day. Final Verdict: The resort has great potential and lovely people, but we did not get what we paid for. Because of the facility issues, we left early the next day (around 930 am) to drive to another resort. They have a good foundation, but they must prioritize facility maintenance and pool treatment before accepting guests.

Summary: Great potential and wonderful staff and owners, but let down by facility maintenance

Positive: I am very happy to find this place Moonlightbay Resort. It is an intimate luxury resort with 12 suites. The swimming pool looks nice in photos, but it is even better in real. They use salty water with a controlled temperature and it is very clean. I did really enjoy the time I spent in the pool. In Moonlight, they use condo-type units. I was surprised with the size and how well it was maintained, they even offered the choice of colour to choose as a furniture.. I was amazed by the size of the balcony and the sound of waves and the view of the sunset is priceless. It's been offered SPA such as I did have SPA and I was amazed to have two therapies working on me and they did use LdOmi lOmi therapy with absolute heeling using organic oil. After I experienced it, I offered it to two of my close Filipino friends who loved it as much as I did. The staff have been well-trained and very professional when it comes to guiding their client. When it comes to the restaurant their menu is mixed East Mediterranean and fillippinien. My favourite dish was the mixed Filipino and Mediterranean Sinigang . They were very generous with the serving. We also bought fresh crabs directly from local fishermen and the cook was very flexible to help with the preparation. You always can ask for the converter for your laptop and cellphone and they will provide it . When it comes to my personal ratings 5 stars out of 5. I am looking forward to visiting The Moonlight for my next vacation in the Phillippines. I really appreciate the assistance of Mary the consultant at Moonlight Bay Resort.
