Escape to the ranch at this clean & well equipped Frio Cielo Cabin. With a beautiful vista, amazing firepit area, and community access to the Dry Frio River you will immediately feel immersed in all of the best Texas nature has to offer. Loma Linda also provides an abundance of indoor entertainment when needed, including Smart TV, Starlink WiFi, board games, & books. Central Heat & A/C along with the large covered back porch will keep you comfortable year around.
Wake up to watch the sun rise over the hills while drinking coffee on the large back porch to the sound of birds and nature filling the morning air. At the end of the day spent hiking, sitting in the cool river, or simply lounging on the porch with a book...enjoy the amazing dark-sky stargazing from the porch or while sitting around the large firepit accessed by a beautiful wooden walkway from the cabin. If the weather isn't giving you permission to spend the day outside, the cabin provides an abundance of indoor entertainment with live TV, boardgames, books, and some toys for the kids.
Sleeping space for 6 guests with a king bed in the master bedroom, 2 twin beds in the loft, as well as a sleeper sofa in the living area.
Well equipped kitchen offers essential appliances for easy meal prep, including electric stove/oven, microwave, full size refrigerator, & coffee maker (as well as a French Press depending on your preference). Cupboards are well stocked with dishes and glassware. Or bring your charcoal and cook out on the grill.
Our cabin offers an amazing outdoor space to enjoy day or night. Choose between the large, fully furnished back porch or the incredible firepit area complete with comfortable chairs and picnic table. The Dry Frio River is just a short hike or quick drive down the gravel road from the cabin.
Loma Linda is perfect for singles, couples, or a small family. Children should be old enough to safely navigate the stairs if sleeping in the loft.
PLEASE NOTE: We make an effort to provide all of the cabin essentials to make for an amazing stay, but it is very important that you plan well and bring any groceries, charcoal, and personal supplies that you need for your vacation as the Frio Cielo Ranch is a remote location (which is probably why you booked your trip here in the first place!). The closest stores are in Concan, about 25 minutes away.
Remember this is a beautiful and rural location in the middle of nature. Given that fact, please don't be surprised to see deer, rabbits, and other amazing wildlife but also remember to be aware of Texas critters, and other hazards that can be present in a natural environment.
Note that you will likely not have cell service at the ranch. We do provide Wifi, but plan accordingly for lack of cell service.

Summary: Although we planned to spend Labor Day floating the river, it turned out to be rainy and a little too cold to do so (very unusual for Texas at this time). However, we loved spending time in this lovely cabin. Sitting on the back porch with a glass of wine or coffee was so nice all while watching the deer, hummingbirds, butterflies, and cardinals. The cabin is well stocked, has comfortable beds, and even with the weather being rainy, we never lost the satellite tv and wifi. The cabin is in a perfect location to be remote enough but close enough (a short drive) to shops, parks, etc. The owner is extremely helpful and communicative. I would stay here again. Summary: Loma Linda is so peaceful, yet within a 30 minute drive to the reasons we wanted to stay in the area (Garner state park and the Frio bat cave). It was also the best equipped and most organized home we've ever stayed in. We would highly recommend it to anyone!

Summary: If you’re looking to get away and really disconnect, this is it! The cabin was exactly as the pictures showed. Super cute! It felt private and secluded. We really enjoyed sitting on the back porch, especially when the rain came in. Our kids loved the fire pit and the upstairs room. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed from hygiene to cooking. The owners checked in with us before and after the trip. We felt very welcome in their cabin. A couple of things I would note: Make sure you have the directions and door code saved as there isn’t any cell service. The owners do have WiFi once you’re able to connect to their network. If you drive in at night, the river is not deep! But I wouldn’t drive a small car to the cabin, because it’s a bumpy ride once your on the ranch. Overall we really enjoyed our trip. Such a fun, peaceful getaway!

Summary: We have been staying in the Lost Maples and Garner State Park area for ten years and this place was one of the best places we have stayed. It has access to water which is awesome and the house was perfect. The outside patio was great. We loved eating breakfast there in the morning and watching the birds come eat. It has a place to grill as well as an amazing fire pit. The owners leave some little things that one might forget and although we didn’t need it, it is a nice touch. There were some games for our little girl that she got to enjoy. We will most definitely be back to this little bit of paradise!

Summary: The cabin is nicely decorated and well stocked. The porch and fire pit area is very pretty and has lights so you can enjoy it in the evenings. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the deer. We used the Vrbo app to communicate with Zach and Terra. They gave us easy instructions for entering the cabin and checked to make sure that we were comfortable.
