Positive: The amazing view - The photos do not do it justice! The property is brand new, as is everything inside! Pots, plates, through to an iron and a washing machine. The bed and cool sofa bed are comfortable. Super clean linen and towels. Great shower The host was friendly and knowledgeable, speaking great English. He is also a taxi driver, should you need one. The location is perfect to wander around Castelmola, catch a bus to one of the amazing beaches or Taormina. The property also has a parking space - just ensure you book it, as there is no other parking...and the hills are steep! Parking spaces can be found on the other side of the hill for 15Euros per 24 hours (20 min walk away) Hire a small car if you're heading this way, the roads are windy, and parking spaces in Sicily are small and limited. There is a great walk down to Taormina, opposite Mimma's house. Great restaurants can be found in Castelmona, all within walking distance, up and down steps. Easy to get lost and found.

Negative: There was nothing we didn't like. Really! Oh, I guess it's worth mentioning, the apartment is located in one of the highest villages in the area, so it's worth noting if you have vertigo.

Positive: Alessandro collected us from Taormina and took us to the residence which was very kind and made the key handover as convenient as it possibly could be. The property itself was very comfortable - simple, modern furnishings, a good shower and bathroom and excellent Aircon which is really important in the heat of the Sicilian summer. The kitchen had everything we needed for an easy stay and we also appreciate that there was water and a bottle of prosecco in the fridge to help us settle in. The fridge was big too so we were able to keep lots of cool drinks and fruit on hand. And there was a very good washing machine and we were able to dry clothes very easily on the terrace. Alessandro was also very kind and flexible about our leaving time. The apartment has astonishing views and a charming little balcony overlooking Etna and the Ionian coast. It is away from the main hustle and bustle of Castelmola (which can get busy with tourists during the day) yet is just a few steps from the main square which has a bar, a restaurant, a small shop and a pharmacy and where buses leave for Taormina very regularly. This makes it a very convenient location for exploration of the local area. I think it would also be good for bigger groups who want some independence from each other as well as together time. Highly recommend.
