Positive: Great location, lovely onsen, yummy breakfast buffet and snacks/drinks at the lounge, easy to get to on public transport.

Negative: The cleaning staff left my door open after they had finished, anyone could have just walked into my room. I also noticed this on several other rooms. Hotel is a little rundown/in need of renovation.

Positive: I loved the onsen and also the lounge where you can drink coffee, tea, beer, wine, etc and eat some cookies and traditional things. I also like the ubication of the hotel, it was close to the visitor center where you can start a very easy trekking to sightseeing different ponds.

Negative: I didn't like the cleaning system. The first day they didn't clean our room, and the second day they wanted to start cleaning our room at 14.30 pm aprox, but we were in the room at that moment so they couldn't clean. I also didn't like that the restaurant was very expensive for dinner and breakfast, and there is no much restaurants in the area if you want some other options.

Summary: Love the onsen and the lounge, but the cleaning system was not organized.

Positive: Very good value for money- meals all included and rooms were comfortable. Drinks available from 245pm prior to check in, up till dinner, and then again in the evening. Very wide selection of food at both dinner and breakfast; Japanese and non-Japanese options available. Quality of the food was very good given the price Staff very friendly and helpful. Outdoor bath (rotemburo) very pleasant, with maple and other trees overhanging the water. When we visited in August there were mostly Japanese families staying at the hotel, all enjoying a summer break together; it was a nice atmosphere. Hotel is right near the entrance to the Goshikinuma walk and also has a bus stop with buses running occasionally to Urabandai Eki (the other end of the Goshikunuma trail).

Negative: Have read some of the other reviews about the overall condition of the hotel. Definitely agree that the first floor seems to have been refurbished first and some other areas are awaiting attention. Rooms were fine though, even if there were a bit worn. However, the carpets on the stairs leading up from the ground floor, and also the one along the corridor to our rooms, were very dirty and need replacing ASAP. Presumably these will be replaced soon but it was surprising that something so visible has been left as it is. However, apart from this, we really enjoyed our stay.

Summary: Great value for money all inclusive hotel in ideal location next to Goshikinuma trail

Negative: A bit limited with the evening drinks. Beer in paper cups for pre dinner drinks?? Please just a chilled Glass like in the dining room.. More adult nibbles.. not so many lollies for kids
