Positive: Mela Kothi is a wonderful lodge and feels like a small island of tranquility. The property is beautiful and teeming with vegetation and wildlife. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. I also did the river boat safari which I highly recommend - saw a river dolphin, Gharials, crocodiles, turtles and many species of birds and the naturist guide was very knowledgeable.

Positive: It was lovely to arrive in such a beautiful garden with flowers, peacocks and other wildlife. Staff was very friendly and the lodge was big and nicely decorated. Food during breakfast, lunch and dinner were excellent: a daily changing buffet of both traditional and innovatove dishes, made of super fresh ingredients from local farms. Excursions by local guides and boat 'safari' with a naturalist were very well done. Good ethical and community-based accommodation: they employ local people, empowering women and creating a caste-free safe space.

Negative: Airco did not work, but they tried to fix this immediately and when this didn't work, they immediately provided another room. Airco is fairly essential, as it helps against mosquitoes.
