Positive: When searching for accommodation, we specifically wanted something authentic and traditional – a real Austrian experience, not a luxury hotel. Matreier Tauernhaus was absolutely perfect for this. The bed was extremely comfortable, the food was amazing, and the staff were exceptionally kind, caring and helpful. We were very happy that they welcomed our small pet, and it completely melted our hearts that the staff even nicely arranged his own little bed and blanket that we had brought with us. The surroundings are simply breathtaking – I have never seen a more beautiful place in my life. Several hiking trails start directly from the guesthouse, which makes it an ideal base for exploring nature. I would recommend this place and the whole region to anyone without hesitation.
