Positive: The property is simply superb -- beautiful house, well kept, in an amazing location with extremely friendly and helpful owners. Highly recommended for anyone that likes peace and tranquility with incredible views and just a short drive to everywhere in Orkney! Photo is the view from our bedroom window. In particular I'd recommend this site for astronomers or anyone that loves truly dark skies. This site is bortle class 2 which means almost zero light pollution of any kind, and at night it's incredible! I am an astrophotographer -- my images are on astrophotos.uk -- and I brought a simple camera and tracker, but we were unlucky enough to have clouds for most of our stay so no chance to take a picture, but for the few minutes we did get to see the night sky it was unbelievable!

Negative: There's really nothing to not like. Hugely impressed and thoroughly recommended.

Positive: Amazing welcome by Amanda, so incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome, and always willing to provide excellent local information as required. En-suite room was large and exceptionally clean, with a fridge and tea/coffee facilities. The room gave absolutely stunning views of the countryside. Location was beautiful and very quiet, and had easy access to many historic visiting sites. The hot tub was a wonderful addition and was used a few times after a day's exploration.

Negative: Absolutely nothing.

Summary: Magnificent Mara Lodge.

Positive: Spacious, comfortable and light filled with good views. The shops were a mile away. You would need a car to get to the main tourist attractions. Parking was right by the house.
