Positive: This is an annex to the main hotel The House of MG - we checked in there and they provided a rickshaw to the Haveli, which is deep inside the old city. The haveli is a beautifully restored old building, and our room was large and comfortable on the ground floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had breakfast at the Haveli, although the main hotel helped us arrange a driver to take us to the sites we wanted to visit. We also used the swimming pool in the main hotel, which was excellent. It was about a mile (1.5 km) between the haveli and the main hotel, a very good walk past some of the main mosques and sites, but best done before 10am or after 10pm, as the density of traffic, especially two-wheelers, otherwise makes the journey rather stressful.

Negative: The booking.com site, and the information received, is misleading in that it does not say that you should check in at the main hotel. Also it is unacceptable that the map in booking.com showed the haveli as nowhere near its actual location - I complained about this and I hope it will be changed.

Positive: Spacious rooms and great views form the rooftop!

Negative: Really hard to get to since cars don’t fit through the streets. House of MG put me in the Haveli that was very far away from the main building even though I had booked the one closer to the main cafe.

Summary: Spacious room, helpfuk staff but the neighbourhood was not great and I don’t think it’s worth the exorbitant price!

Positive: Lovely well restored Haveli Penthouse room spacious Very comfortable bed - was the size of Gujarat We liked the location - not everyone would, it’s a 15-20 walk from the main hotel but you get to take in the old town en route with all its noises, commotion and dirt which we enjoyed Balcony with hinchco
