Positive: The location is perfect. Right on the beach and in the heart of everything going on. It's directly next to our favourite bar/restaurant (Barton Bistro) which was perfect for dining, drinks and live music. You can hear the waves crashing at night and waking up for breakfast served on the beach is a real slice of paradise (the mango was possibly one of the best I've ever tried. So juicy!). The bed and pillows were comfortable and the porch with inflatable chairs were great to relax on with a drink in the evening. The place is quite basic but honestly, that's the vibe of the area. It's very authentic and charming (in a jungle hut in the beach kind of way)

Negative: The villa is what the resort refers to as an "open villa" this consists of the windows being covered by a thin/bug prove mesh with static (non closing) wooden shutters across them. You really can hear everything around you. I'm a very light sleeper which in hindsight probably wasn't the best choice. You can hear tuktuks, dogs, and music from the neighbouring bars from the streets pretty clearly in the room. At night this dies down around 12ish and starts up again around 7.30am. They do supply earplugs which helped but didn't solve the problem. Due to the shutters not closing, the light pours in during the morning hours which if you don't have an eye mask, may be an issue. These are personal issues which shouldn't reflect poorly on the property. At its core, it's a great jungle hut on the beach that has everything you need to have a great time. Just bare in mind the noise and light if you're a light sleeper. With that being said, we had a great time and I would recommend this place to anyone wanting an authentic experience.
