Positive: The location is fantastic. In the center of the lanes but at the end of a gated courtyard so very quiet this property is also 5min from the train station on foot and a very short walk to the beach / pier. Just couldn't have hoped for a better location.

Negative: I was taken by surprise by the rental agency (NOT booking.com) asking me to provide credit card details so a lock for a damage deposit could be placed on my account before we arrived. I was not expecting this, had never been asked to do this before and was very concerned as to whether it was a hoax or scam given that it was not using the booking.com systems. In the end, it was all ok and my deposit was returned after our stay without difficulty and there hasn't been any un-expected transactions on my card since. But it did have me worried. Also, anyone staying there must take into account that this property has lots of small twisting staircase and no "ground floor" to speak of. Not a problem at all for our party but worth noting for possibly less mobile people.

Summary: Amazing location! Guest must be mobile and fine with stairs. Damage deposit payment a bit worrying.

Positive: I booked it for my family, and knowing Brighton, it was one of the better places to be in the city. Accessing the transport was easy, and the house was clean, well-kept, with ample cutlery, tea and coffee packs. It had a relaxing atmosphere and, despite it being central, was quite quiet and offered enough privacy for 5 of us.

Negative: The beds and the rooms were a bit smaller than we expected. The accommodation spans over three floors, so not suitable for people with mobility needs. The furniture seems to have been replaced and moved around compared to the pictures.

Positive: Great location, off the Main Street but cafes and shops just round the corner! Spacious, modern and clean.

Positive: Location was excellent. People in Brighton are fabulous. So many little cafés. Pinocchio's Italian Restaurant was so good. Unfortunately we only found this on our last night. Food was great & staff so efficient, accommodating & welcoming. 17grams Coffee Shop was also a real find. Coffee amazing & staff efficient & friendly. Would definitely go back to both places.

Negative: The apartment was too small for 3 adults & 3 children. No dining table. We checked everything on our day of arrival & took photos. The coffee table was very unstable, so it couldn't be used. The leg of an armchair was broken, it looked like someone had tried to fix it. We did contact customer service about this just to make them aware. They said they would pass it on to the maintenance team. Maybe they came to fix things after we left. It was fine but not suitable for our group.
